I need to delete a thread I posted but I cant find the delete button and it needs to be deleted before anyone replies to it.

Only Mods and higher have the power to delete threads. If you want it closed/deleted then just PM a Mod or Higher Staff.

Hmm..now wait a minute. When I go to "Thread Tools" in a thread I've created, I get the option to close or delete said thread. Is this something available to all users, or just Community Supporters and higher? (or a mistake all together? Although, I hope not, as having the option to close my own tread is a good feature. Takes some load off of Mods+.)

I didn't know that community supporters can actually do that. It's probably a mistake, or it's possible that even Community Supporters can have the power as well.

After a bit of checking, it appears I can close my own threads in certain forums, but not all. Example: I can't close threads I've made here in Community Questions and feedback, or in Archived Games, but everywhere else where I've created threads I can. It really is a handy feature, and since they're all my threads, it wouldn't cause anyone any problems (like random users closing other peoples threads...not cool).

If they gave all users the power to close / delete their own threads, the mods jobs would become less chaotic.

I think that'd be a a good idea. For example, if you made a thread that was already made, you can close it yourself instead of the mods/admins haveing to check it for you. Or when those lags happen to PC (when the server is down), I sometimes see people clicking the "create" thread too many times that there will be duplicated threads of the same thing. So the thread creator can just close all the othere one's and keep one left open.

Then again, perhaps the mods/admins would want to be the one's doing that.

Hmm...I guess it could allow people to post lots of threads and close them...maybe the option could become available only after "Hot Thread" status is reached...

But people wouldn't be "mini-mods" because they could only close / lock their own threads.

Lets leave the locking/moving/deleting of threads up to the Staff. Lets just say that some members would mess around with it.

And it's not because you're a Community Supporter, it's because of the PC Veterans usergroup, the one who set it up didn't set it up right and that's why you were able to lock your own thread.

Guess I should have never brough it up :knockedou. Ah well...I still think it would be a good idea for certain forums (request threads especially) to allow thread creaters to close their own threads. That way, people wouldn't have to bother the staff to take a hiatus and have their thread locked for a while.
