    In Generation III, you could obtain Deoxys through a special event item known as the Aurora Ticket. Once obtained, you can take a boat to Birth Island and do a mini puzzle to be able to battle it. In Generation III, Deoxys had an oddity of sorts: it could only be one form. Which form depended on what game you were playing.

    Another oddity is that if you hack a Deoxys into your game, it will never obey you no matter what. Mew is the same, in this case.

    You can still technically do the Aurora Ticket event today! But, with other means of doing so.
