Desert Storm Part Deux

looks good. it's gonna throw a lot of opponents off course.

purfugly: it's for hypnosis. the idea of having rock polish is so that it's faster than what switches in and induces sleep. if hypnosis misses, then Lunatone is SCREWED.

I thought Hypnosis's Accuracy was 100. O.o

This, like the last thread, seems to be turning into a 3 way discussion rather than a thread. =P

also, keep Rash nature. Quiet is stupid because you have to give it speed evs anyway.

errrm how come quiet is standard then ? Rash nature kills Tyranitar due to it being able to not switch in on special attacks that it resists somewhat with Sandstream in effect, such as the ever increasing Calm Mind Blissey, this also makes a pretty good Cresselia counter.

The speed is only needed to outspeed weezing who would otherwise catch it with will-0-wisp

Rash is not really an option IMO

Rash is MORE than safe because Sandstream already boosts its special defense by 50%. in all reality, -Sp Def nature only reduces its Sp Def by 10-15%... considering it has a stable 100 base sp defense, that means it gets reduced to a 85-90 base sp defense stat. then you must consider the 50% boost, which would make it a 125-135 base Sp Def. that's as much as BLISSEY's base special defense.

actually look at the stats before you depend on standard movesets. Standard Tyraniboah has thunderbolt because of a fear of Gyarados and not because it does any reclusive damage to anything else. Standard Tyraniboah has 252 HP Evs for excuse of making bad prediction... i mean really, how can you make bad predictions against a Blissey? it does the same thing.

Weezing's Will-O-Wisp is not a threat if you have Substitute. that's the idea... it protects it from status. the idea of having substitute on ANY set is to use Substitute first, which protects it from Blissey's T-wave and Weezing's WoW.

and LOL... CM Blissey is not 'ever increasing'. it has lost popularity in D/P due to innefiency. sure, some people still use it, but only in cases where their team is already suited to allow Blissey to do something other than it usually does.

Please, let's not turn this thread into a flaming war. By the way, if I wanted to have a Solrock with Trick Room in its move set, what would you suggest.

And how about Armaldo?

Lol we wernt flaming, just expressing our opinions XD

and @ Samson i apologize if you think i was flaming you btw, because i wasnt, I just assumed Quiet was best as its listed as standard everywhere, but it really doesn't matter, i guess Quiet and Rash do the job just as good.

sorry, but solrock in no shape or form needs leftovers. it's meant to set stealth rock/trick room and survive with Focus Sash and explode in their face. solrock is also awesome for stopping sweepers from sweeping your whole team. if unluckily, a gyara gets a couple DDs on you, then you can count on solrock to come in, survive the hit and explode on the same turn. armaldo, also, doesn't need focus sash because it is quite bulky already (75 base HP, 100 base DEF, 80 base SP DEF). with sandstream up, it's a complete wall who can get up a couple swords dances and sweep.

Gliscor CAN'T have Choice Scarf. It is meant to be a wall, not a sweeper.

Yes, that is 101% correct. Give it lefties...or shell bell or something. It is like aggron with better typing, so use its advantages to your advantage. So no choice items on gliscor...just use a recovery item.

gliscor CAN. it does it very well. and scarf U-turn OHKOs celebi, one of the most threatening pokes to any sandstream team. aside from that, it's really the only offensive set Gliscor should have. even without focusing on its defense so much, 112 HP allows it to take vital hits and do good damage in return.

Meh, that's a good point, but I don't like CScarf Gliscor. Back when I actually played D/P online, my gliscor sucked at attacking with choice scarf. Oddly enough, I never ran into celebi once, so I never saw any use for a scarfed U-turn. It is a great physical wall, and I don't recommend Cscarf, but it can work like Samson said.
