So, I only ask this question as I've seen conflicting answers in several places, for example a few rulings on allexperts under the pokemon section. In regards to a post made in 2006, concerning the sleep infliction - I was wondering if this was a legitimate ruling, and if yes, if it was still applicable in the TCG under the current rulings. The rule book does clearly state that a flip between each players turn is required to see if the pokemon is awake. My question applied to a specific scenario is, for instance an undaunted Leafeon using Soothing Scent, that inflicts sleep without a coin flip for success. Does this mean that after declaring the attack, adding the damage and inflicting sleep on the defending pokemon, does that player then flip before their turn, and after their turn to see if their pokemon wakes up or does this mean that the sleep clause having just been inflicted as a result of the end of the attacking player's turn, not require a flip until the end of the defending players turn? But from there on acting in a normal fashion and requiring a sleep in between both players turn, the stipulation applying to the actual inflicting of sleep with the end of a turn.
