Well, this thread is dedicated to all of these exaggerated Dex entries like Alakazam's IQ of 5000 and Larvitar that can eat a mountain.
Discuss them , any inconsistencies you find, and more

As for me, although I have a theory about why some Dex entries are that way, I still think it's fun to read them. I still don't believe Sharpedo have the capabilities to bring a tanker down.

WOW. first off, people are turning into pokemon we catch and force to fight other pokemon WHO COULD BE ANYONE. Second, they REMEMBER EVERYTHING. They remember everything good and bad from their human life. Reminds me of the Abomination. Third, they carry ound their own face as a mask. Fourth, they look at it's mask and CRY. Yea, Cubone crys about it's mother, but they're crying about the SHEER HORROR THEY'VE BECOME. Oh, and it turns into a coffin which kills grave robbers. But think about it. Lets put this simple.

    1. Unova is based on New York.
    2. In New York, the Twin Towers collapsed.
    3. In the Desert Resort, there are TWO TOWER LIKE RUINS.
    4. You catch Yamask there. Yea. You're catching people who died in a catastrophe that ruined half of the worlds people's lives.

And lets not forget that Ghetsis has a Cofagrigus.

    Update: It's ability doesn't help.

Okay, just throwing it out there that in no way is the Desert Resort based on the collapsed Twin Towers. Just for clarification purposes.

    Yamask is still creepy though.

Tyranitar can tear down mountains. Darmanitan can wreck a dump truck. But Darmanitan has a whole 6 extra base attack points than Tyranitar? What?

Well, particularly I believe BW's entries are more believable than the others, as the "writers" are older.
As I said, the kids could be exaggerating; hence Darmanitan is jotted down as weaker when he's stronger than Tyranitar.
Or maybe other factors happened, everything's subjective

I never like 'em, those exaggerated pokedex entries. Who wrote them anyway? Most professors will surely gone into nerd rage when they read them.
Although I kinda positive with entries for most ghost pokemon. They are 'ghost' after all, so they are supposed to be creepy rite?

and no, the Desert Resort is just random desert area that randomly placed in the middle of New York (or Manhattan will be more fitting) so desert pokemon can 'naturally' appear there.

I believe wild Aggron hold the claim of taking an entire mountain for their territory.

How many mountains are there in Hoenn or Unova to take over? Or do Larion just not evolve to save themselves the trouble?

Possibly there aren't many Aggron out there. Female Lairon possibly not evolve to keep themselves out of trouble as well.
This is also why Aggron regularly battled for territories: There aren't not enough mountain in Hoenn.

Litwick and its evolved forms can steal souls for energy. That's just creepy.

Also, Escavalier can move at high speeds, yet it has a base Speed of 20.

THIS is why it's a bad idea to get your pokedex filled out by a bunch of 10 year old kids. They end up recording the most ridiculous misinformation ever. :D

Here's something for you guys. It's not exactly from the Pokedex, but it's from a playing card. Just thought this would be a good place to leave this, hehe...

And just like that, you have successfully destroyed any decency the Rocket leader had left after being defeated by a 10 year old.

It is rumored that a boy with psychic abilities suddenly transformed into Kadabra while he was assisting research into extrasensory powers.- Emerald

    Bullcrap.

That Kadabra one always annoyed me, how does a boy turn into a pokemon.

I'm amazed this hasn't been mentioned yet

Ruby - Shedinja's hard body doesn't move - not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back

So when does my soul get stolen?

    It did, second post iirc
I think that the dex entry followed by the fact that you see is actually a very funny coincidence

Oh, hahaha didn't see that. Anyway I just disregard the dex entries all togethor as most of them are incredibly stupid or weird.

    My favorite type of Pokemon:

    Shuppet:
-Sapphire: Shuppet grows by feeding on dark emotions, such as vengefulness and envy, in the hearts of people. It roams through cities in search of grudges that taint people.

I don't see it growing and a lot of people are scared of Ghost so Shuppet should be huge then -_-"

    Banette:
Sapphire: A cursed energy permeated the stuffing of a discarded and forgotten plush doll, giving it new life as Banette. The Pokémon's energy would escape if it were to ever open its mouth.

It opens its mouth all the time, so should it not faint then?

Well, Imagine this in Emerald after defeating both Archie and Max (iirc you do that) ... it would be huge

LOL, back in the days I watched anime, I thought it was very funny the fact that he opened its mouth at least once in three seconds intervals

On this Magikarp card I had it said that an old Magikarp could use Splash to jump a mountain but it would still remain useless. Seriously? I could use that to get past twist mountain in B/W!

Hey, please don't revive threads over a month old. Thanks :)
