Its dialga all the way. it looks better, stats r better and is just basicly better

While I agree with you in that I like Dialga better, Palkia's types add more resitance that Diagla's. Only two types are super effective against Palkia.
 
Thanks for the correction Purfugly. So Palkia's only weakness is Dragon.
 
Since this thread has started to die out, by going by the poll we can conclude that... Dialga is better!

And how do people's (often biased) opinions prove anything? I've said it before and I'll say it again, Dialga and Palkia are equally useful! -.- They each counter about the same about of threats in the uber metagame and both counter the things they're supposed to counter extremely well. Palkia and Dialga serve different purposes so how can you compared them? It's similar to comparing Blissey to Garchomp.
 
I realize that they are pretty much equal but I was just going by which one people like better.
 
I have to go with Palkia. And by the way... Just because the poll has more people for Dialga DOES NOT conclude etheir one is better! I know because I have both!
 
Palkia is better than Dialga because Palkia has more speed and has Spacial Rend with lustrous orb. But Dialga has Roar Of Time but when you use it you have to recharge. Dialga also has a plate thingy.
 
Ok I will make as many comparisons as I can.

Stats-
HP: Dialga(+20)
ATK: =
DEF: Dialga (+40)
SP.ATK: =
SP.DEF: Palkia (+40)
SPEED: Palkia (+22)

Signature Move-
Spacial Rend > Roar of Time

Popularity (Based on Poll)-
Dialga > Palkia

Weaknesses-
Palkia has fewer than Dialga.

Other Opinions-
These cannot really be used to say which is better because they are opinions but some people have argued the following:
Dialga looks like a dog with coral on its back.
Palkia is pink.
Palkia's Roar sounds funny.
Steel/Dragon is stupid.
 
it really all depends on your preferences. personally, i think each is equal in their own rite. it all depends on what you're using them for. Dialga's good for physicality, while Palkia is for Special. personally, i like them both equally.

but isn't this how it is with any Pokémon? doens't all depend on your preference? i didn't think it mattered otherwise, but...i guess....people need something stupid to fight over, right? lol i'll just leave it at that i think they're equal. :D
 
Yeah I agree with you. There is no way to say for certain that one pokemon is better than another. It is all in how you use them and how they fit into your strategy.
 
exactly. its all your personal preference. my team i had before my game crashed on me was:

Lv.70 Raichu
Lv.70 Infernape
Lv.70 Staraptor
Lv.70 Torterra
Lv.73 Empoleon
Lv.77 Alakazam

people called my team crappy, but when i used it in a Wi-Fi battle, they easily mowed down a couple legendaries (because the person had two legends and then four normal). the person i was going against ended up running from the battle on their last Pokémon. yet somehow people were calling my team crappy. lol oh well... let them think what they want, right? lol my current team now is in my sig, though. though hacked, i haven't used anything to make them strong. i agree with hacked Pokémon, but not Stat hacked Pokémon. :D

You forgot the fact that Dialga sounds like a cat being killed with a sledgehammer.
 
palkias special doesn't have to wait a turn after it moves XD
 
What turned me off for Dialga is his cry really and the fact that Staraptor's close combat easily knocks him out.
 
yeah, but if Dialga can get the first hit in, then Palkia could be pretty well screwed. as i've said before, though, they're both good in their own rite. not any one Pokémon is better than the other.
 
For everyone talking about how the other looks better and has a better cry or whatever, if you would have read the first post you'd know it's about which one is better, not which one looks better, sounds better etc.
Palkia is allways better than dialga. Palkia's SIG move is far better, its faster, has a better type combo, has less weaknesses. looks cooler. it just is better. dialga is just over rated.

And what do signature moves prove? -.- Not every Pokémon has to use its signature move, you know. Lugia, for example, is much better off with Ice Beam than Aeroblast same goes for Dialga with Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor over Roar of Time. As for their type combos, they're pretty even too. Palkia might only have one weakness, which isn't very common, but Dialga gets a hell of a lot of resistances from its Steel type. And as I've said before, both counter about the same amount of Pokémon in the uber metagame, making them equals. And this is not just an opinion, it's a fact. -.-

The Dialga has to have really bad Defense and HP IVs and probably a Defense decreasing nature as well to be OHKOed by Staraptor's Close Combat.

*edit* And why is it that people always just look at the amount of weaknesses the Pokémon have, but don't bother mentioning that Palkia only has 3 resistances while Dialga has 11 resistances and 1 immunity?
