4th Gen Diamond / Pearl Q&A Thread

Hiya guys. I'm rather new to the Pokemon scene (in the sense that I've never really taken it seriously, which I am now).

I've just recently recieved a Totodile over WiFi, and I trained it into a Croconaw. Well, I decided that I wanted more Totodiles, so I began to breed a Marril and the Croconaw. I've raised about 13 19 eggs, and all of them have been Marrils. What am I doing wrong?

If your Crocanaw is a boy you need it to be a girl and the Maril be a boy.

If a person on the GTS offers an event, the offerer will not be the event OT. It will be the name of the trainer with another Diamond or Pearl game.

Not being able to see the summary of a Pokemon was one of the main problems with the GTS. But I believe this is because if someone trades a hacked Pokemon to someone else and people are able to see the summary of it, no one would want to trade for it. So you take a risk when you trade on the GTS of the Pokemon being a legit event, a regular pokemon meant to look like an event, or a hack.

I have A queastion how do you train your pokemon with EV and what is an EV? what does it do to your pokemon?

Nope, once a Pokemon is Lv100, I'm pretty sure that's it. I think you might be able to still use Protiens, Carbos, etc., on it though, but you can only give it 100 out of the 252 EVs it needs that way.

I have a question, hopefully it's relevant. But I'm working on doing Victory Road for getting to the Elite Four,is there any quick ways to get through the Victory Road, fairly fast and easy?

The "Quick" way would be to get tons of repels and just go through.
There are no shortcuts.

IMO, this victory road was one of the toughest in the series. Repels will only work if your Pokemon are at a higher level than the wild Pokemon, keep that in mind. You might want to take in some Escape Ropes too, just in case your team needs healing.

Anyway this my team for going against the Elite Four, during the road I bet their gonna level up. But this is them..

Torterra - Level 56
Machamp - Level 61
Hippowdon - Level 52
Palkia - Level 47
Then I've got my two weakling coming along for leveling..
Noctowl - Level 25
Quagsire - Level 30

You cant tell until you trade but I have gotten events off of the GTS that were legit. If you get a hack just put it back up for offer.

You can only migrate once you beat the E4 right? Well this is my first time...havn't played since April.

I already got through V. Road with little difficulty and my highest level right now is 53 so I think V Road will be a cake walk for you and E4 won't be too tough for you I'm still training to at least 60 for everyone....

You CAN do with lower of course (I beat Emerald E4 with only Blaziken lv 54ish and Rayquaza lv 70) but I'd suggest to get at least one lv 70

Other than Victory Road are there any good areas that have good opponets for training?
I miss having Gym rematches.....
I'm gonna try to balance my most my team up to 60s with one a higher
Btw What and how many healing items du reccomend prepping for the E4 could be expensive sometimes....

EDIT:
I didn't know you can't use the VS seeker at V. Road what kind of BS is that!
