    Have you ever asked a girl/boy to a dance and got an answer as no or I can't? I have this week. The school dance is today. I asked a girl I like and she kinda likes me and she said that she can't cuz her dad won't let her go. I then asked her what she would have said if her dad let her go and she said she would have said yes. I have a feeling she's lying cuz she sounded like she wasn't paying attention to me when i asked her if she would have said yes and my friend who is at the dance now, gonna make sure she's not there. If he finds her he's gonna call me. *calls friend to make sure she is not there* He says he didn't see her yet, but there is always the chance that she comes later. The dance just started.

    People ask people to dances? Doesn't that only happen on TV?

    He is right. I have a dance on the 10th, and Im just gonna go with the rest of the dateless 8th graders lol. Just let it go, and have fun anyway! [Is more helpful than John Denver :P]
     
    Hmm, you're taking this too hard man.

    If she's there just say,"Oh well she doesn't like me".

    I have a seventh grade dance coming up on Friday I think, I'm not planning on going, >_>.
     
    Yeah I agree, let it go. If she doesn't want to go with you then that's her problem, and you shouldn't make her problem yours. I have 2 seventh grade dances coming up as well, and well, I haven't been asked out at all, for either of them, but I ain't mopin' over it. Haven't even been asked by my best friend Jake to go as friends!

    Look, people, you may say 'get over it' but it's always harder to get over something rather than to tell somebody to get over it, y'know?

    Now, as for the whole dance thing, well I'd just forget about it.. after a little while.

    It takes some time, but trust me, you WILL get over it. I have faced much harrasment before, and put up with it all (and you could say kinda ignored it) up until now and it's helped a LOT (trust me). The thing you have to remember is to just think of the friends you do have and forget about all the preps who don't deserve to live! >.>

    Oh, and I think the dude above me was right, stop being so paranoid (like me XD) it really doesn't help I know from experience XDD) Who knows, maybe she actually COULDN'T come. Or, she already had like, a date or something and just didn't want to hurt you feelings? Try to think of that..

    Not really. There are such things as "school dances" you know. ever heard of em?

    And BTW, i made this thread for people to say if this happened to them.

    Yes, and I've been to quite a few of them. People don't ask other people to go to dances, they just go and ask people if they want to dance with them during slow songs and do random things, like socialize, during other songs.

    All my school has is songs that are on the "popular" radio stations (like Kiss 108), which I don't like (**** pop and R&B.).
     
    I don't go to dances either. Plus I'm into Rock and Metal etc. I'm a rocker/skater so it's not really my kind of place as you could imagine.

    It's never happened to me, but I have had two girls ask me in my lifetime, both of which I turned down due to lack of interest in those wild dances.

    In our school dances we have rock, punk rock, hip hop, rap, and slow. never classic
     
    Never happend to me before...cause we dont have dances at our school....iv been invited to school discos...if that is counted as the same thing?...but other wise dont worry....if she is there then you know she might be cheating on you but then you know...no offense...
