6th Gen Did you hate them or love them? rivals-

So we had allot of new people to accompany us in this game, how did you like them? Why did you like them? or why not?

To me they were all OK none of them stood out and they were all easy to take out, the one i did not really care for was... Terino he was just so... pointless! he had no purpose in the game what so ever the only bright side to him (and there are allot of sides to Terino if you know what i mean) is that he rarely appeared! I did like in this game that you did not have to name your rivals in this game, always was hard and pointless for me.

The only character i remember is Shauna and Serena.. the other 2 guys... they are utterly useless most of the time. The self-proclaimed pokedex master the kid with glasses is pathetic. We compared mountain kalos dex and at the time i only had 17 discovered and caught but he was defeated lol! so much for a pokedex master

They were some of the flattest characters I ever met. And Serena really sucked as a Pokemon trainer; she never came close to beating my Chesnaught, even with her Delphox.

They were under whelming.
Not once didnt the rival ever take down one of my pokemon. And never getting more thaan 3 pokemon...... Really!? come on the past gen rivals were better than this.
I rember when they drove me up the wall with showing up and battling, that was a reasion i loved giving them funny names xD but this time it was like: Oh the Rival ... plese dont battle me cause im just going to embarrass you to no end.

Yeah, I even remember Cheren (that's his name, right?) giving me some trouble in B/W. But these "rivals" we just walking EXP and money.

They weren't that much of a challenge and I aced through all the battles without a single Pokemon in my party fainting. I'd say that Shauna's Goodra could've been a potential threat, if I had not used my Talonflame to take care of it. The character development in this game seemed underwhelming this time around and I didn't take them that seriously because it felt as if it was the anime characters being the supportive characters this time.

I wasn't a fan of the rivals this time around. I didn't mind the idea of having a number of rivals with different personalities, and the "group of friends" thing was unique, but I don't think the characters were fleshed out that well. They also just struck me as really young and immature most of the time. Sure, some of the rivals in past games are sore losers (Blue/Gary), or have other flaws, but the rivals this time were more annoying than endearing. Admittedly, I'm more of a fan of the meaner, older style rivals (gens 1 and 2--Silver's character development also adds depth), so the mix this time wasn't really my cup of tea. However, even with friendly rivals, I think I would have liked the rivals a lot better if there was at least one of them who was moderately challenging and seemed genuinely serious about being your rival (Serena didn't count in my opinion).

i really wish GF would make a pokemon game with a definitive story and i mean a story like on some RPG games where the consequences of your actions would shape "your game's" world and will affect the post-game and also make loveable characters.

for once, i will truly enjoy the pre-game if they made pokemon like that.. having a lil bit of romance is good too :p

no harm in that even if their target audience is 14 and below right? love makes the world go round :)

I didn't notice them being weak because the hole game was super easy so yea. i just remembered they make you take a nick name! AHHH what the heck i like my name not "Big Q", this time you don't name them they name YOU!

There has never been a rival that has been hard if you know what your doing.

Anyways, I found Trevor and the big guy (forget his name) very annoying. I don't know why exactly. I did love Serena and Shauna though. I think the reason I found the guys annoying is because they didn't do crap and you actually did stuff with Serena and Shauna.
