Sold better, supposedly. Read a VentureBeat article about the original Grim Fandango. Evidently sold 500,000 copies.
Saw a comment on a Thimbleweed Park forum. Discovered the number of unique people that played the Remastered version on Steam, thanks to a Steam API issue. Claimed 516,584. Accounts only for Steam. Released it on other platforms too.
