Difficulty?

I don't think it's really needed. If you want a challenge why not set challenges for yourself? mono-types, solos, only use weak pokemon etc.

Im confused.. How would a higher diffuculty make you grind? Unless you're playing on a with too high of a challenge you wouldn't be forced to grind.

Because 10 level 50 trainers is going to get my whole team from level 50-55.

If you want to play hard, pick different Pokemon.

Easy as that.

Instead of using your MA-CHAMP and your GAR-CHOMP, use Machop and Gible. Easy as that.

The games are as hard as you make them. If you take on a gym leader with underlevelled Pokemon, that's gonna be a bit difficult. But if you grind and overlevel them by a couple of levels, it becomes easy.

I'm glad to see that this thread is gettting a lot of action : )

Yohosh, you make an excellent point.. I never thought about that..

And people who are saying, underlevel your Pokemon and make challenge runs, I believe you are misunderstanding the point of a difficulty choice. My point was, I want the games themselves to be more of a challenge just playing through in any manner, but I understand that there will always be people with less skills than you or I. The thing you seem to be talking about is grinding up to smash trainers into oblivion, which is really all you need now. In my mind the harder setting should require more stragety to defeat, providing you with a more realistic journey, where you are a beginning trainer in a world of champions and will be treated as such. Where as now, you can grind and never face a challenge again by using simple power moves.

I like the idea. WiFi wouldn't be an issue as you are against a human anyway. Battle Fronteir already exsists as a sort-of challenge for better players. But we all know it could be a LOT harder.
