Disobedient pokemon

I'm sure this has been discussed before but why are the pokemon in the anime instantly obedient and happy once they are caught. Surely if a pokemon makes a huge show of either escaping or fighting to avoid capture, they would be resentful or upset after being caught. But nope, they come out after being captured and it's all smiles and obedience.

I haven't watched through all the seasons but is this ever explained?

I never understood that either. When I was a kid, I used to think pokeballs had the power to brainwash Pokemon into obeying whoever captures them.

Pokemon, like in the games, like being with trainers, I suppose, but not all Pokemon are directly obedient. For example, in the Sinnoh saga, when Ash caught Turtwig, it would not obey the dodge command. However, no, it was never explained in anime. It's up to the viewer's interpretation to decide why Pokemon are obedient, I suppose. Perhaps, as the person above me said, a Pokeball forces a Pokemon to obey the trainer. I'd like to think Pokemon naturally know to obey humans, however, or a Pokemon knows it's going to be used in battle, so , no explanation is really needed, in my opinion. I'll just go with natural order. Maybe that sounds like an excuse, but, seems plausible to me?

I've heard the pokeball brainwashing theory and it would seem the most obvious explanation, with one exception: Ash's Charizard. As soon as it evolved into a charmeleon it started disobeying Ash, and this grew worse when it evolved again into Charizard. Ash then had to gain Charizard's trust before Charizard would listen to instructions. This phenomenon was never explained and never repeated with any other pokemon.
