I was checking this very cool game for the psp when I began wondering... The pokemon games are really slow... U only get to press a simple button like idiot all day to increase the power of ur pkms... It is like if u were playing Mafia Wars in Facebook or something... I think Nintendo should develop a game in which we could fight wth pokemons with a battle style similar to the dissidia game... What do you think?

They already have something like that, the Super Smash Bros. series. Besides, the Pokemon games are more than just pushing one button over and over again. You need at least a mild strategy. Besides, Pokemon is an RPG and that is how most RPGs play, most Final Fantasies play the same way.

Is not the same, because Smash Bros isn't a game developed entirely for pkmn... And about the part of the mild strategy... I've been playing pokemon games since the red version came to light. The only strategy is knowing that fire will burn grass types and such... I just think that after... let me see... only about the original gaming series... there's been like 15 different versions... each of them features the same game mode... If nintendo thinks thats going to work for another 15 years I don't think pokemon games will live long...

Other games like the ones of the dungeons are cool... because they're different... Don't tell me u wouldn't like to play a game similar to the anime... Where you could evade attacks more easily and not limit your gameplay to the 4 allowed techniques... but combine them as in the anime and perform creative attacks... Something like that could be interesting...

I just think... If Final Fantasy evolved to present a better product to a more exigent market, then why shouldn't pokemon try the same thing?

The concept you're thinking of has been discussed TO THE DEATH, and I don't expect a battle system like Dissidia in a Pokémon game (main stream, that is) any time soon. "Pokémon Melee! Scramble" has real-time battling, but that's the closest it's ever gotten so far.

Also, you need to go into the competitive battling stadium. There you will find out that there's more strategy in Pokémon then "lol Sheer Cold+Mind Reader will pwn u". There's more to it, such as using the move Spikes and then Roar to constantly juggle the foe around while damaging them, Nasty Plot to make attacks KO in one turn where it would normaly take three, Baton Passing buffs (which I myself thought was a useless move back in the older days), and more. But I'm getting too far off-topic.

Well yes, I mean there's certainly some strategy in the games... It is just that, Nintendo has, for 15 years, only increased the number of pkms and battle techniques while changing minor things such as pokeblocks for poffins and gadgets. I'm only saying it would be different and interesting to see a game in a distant future that would be like a smash bros. made entirely for the pokemon...

but thatd be way too weird i thought it was weird with dissidia it should always be turn based not turned into dbz budokai or sumthing like that

Perhaps if Nintendo was to make a pokemon game for something like Xbox or Playstation or Wii(besides the Ranch and stuff) Then they could do it as one where you could move around but for the DS and other handhelds it wouldn't really work out because of the small screen and it would take too long for them to make the new game. We would get bored of waiting for them to perfect their next game with the battle system your asking for. So I say: For handhelds its perfect as is though maybe a little more animation couldn't hurt. And if they ever decide to make a full blown game for a console then bring on the Anime styles >=D

Pokemon is a turned based strategic RPG, that's how they are played. And strategy is meant to be involved, but if you don't use it that's your own story.

You know you're saying all this, and yet you play the game, and you're a member of the Pokecommunity Forums... what's the point?

If the games weren't interesting, Nintendo would have quit years ago, it would have failed as the franchise it is! The storylines are highly interesting, the graphics improvement have developed so much, and the TV show can only get better as Ash improves!

It would take a lot of time to develop.
Though a game imitating the battle style of SSB entirely about pokemon would be beyond amazing, it would still be a lot of work on their hands.
Besides pokemon was meant to be an RPG game, Nintendo might never change that.
    Who knows.....

The games are interesting.., I mean, that why I bought them in the first place. But, I'm just wondering how amazing would it be to have a full game in a big console. However, Nintendo knows that the games are getting kind of repetitive... That's why they made the Mystery Dungeons thingys and the Rangers (and pkmn dash, card, pinball, tamagochi stupid thing) too... The question is... how long will this alternative games support the main stream of the series.

They're not supporting the main series, they're just extra, cool games.

Diamond and Pearl: 15 million sold
    Ranger: 2.7 million sold
    Mystery Dungeon: 3.07 million sold

Pokemon Red and Blue were released in the US on Sep 30, 1998. Yep you're right. Pokemon definitely won't last another 15 years when the same formula has kept people coming back for more going on 11 years now. ;)

People are used to that same formula, it sells, therefore it will continue.

It's okay man (or woman... don't know if those x's n y's in your name are chromosome codes or something...) if u think that way... I mean... FF evolved to strategy board-like games such as crystal and fighting games... Mario... perhaps the best example, has evolved into so many things (including bees...) to keep people entertained with different stuff... Is only natural that pokemon will eventually do it in their games... What? Wait? you gotta be kidding me... They have already done it? Yup i knew it, the next frontier is a fighting game!

What would we do if WIKIPEDIA didn't exist? Thank u Zeus and Ades and fish-like god of the waters!!! No, for real, people, specially americans (no racism, discrimination implied, thingy, etc...) are like really consumer-freaks and buy everything... And man, for real, it was like the first wire-less version of pkmn in months (can't say it is years after the arrival of a new version every three m
onths or so...)... Then again... what will happen when that becomes obsolete?
Aha, Nintendo will have to offer something like dissidia... not dissidia.... Which, in mine own personal point of view... is amazing...

the extra games(such as Ranger and MG) are good games but they are off from the main stream...
Nintendo should keep the main games on how it is now and improve its animation and other add-ons to it...Like when yellow came out after red and blue, we were amazed on how it improved its graphics and its add-on(the pikachu following you). Each time Nintendo releases a new version, the game keeps on getting better and better, so I don't think they might make Pokemon Dissidia even though it might be cool to see pokemon fighting like crazy but it'll be kinda weird for a pokemon game to be like that..what do you think?

I'm not spending 50 dollars to buy a new version every three months to see 100 new creatures like bidoof that, for god's sake, is horrible, and to see how a weird pikachu follows me over the entire continent... And about the animations and sprites... yes they r cool... Like fun to watch tackle... and leer... it is like a burst of several light beams or something... This is just like informative... but Chrono Trigger supossed a big evolution in the history of the RPG's because it feature real time battle and rpg elements... Now that is creative, and amazing, and Ill love to see it in PKMN

Ahhh yes spin-offs, the Crystal FF series a huge spin-off and actually has turned newcomers to FF to dislike the series. Dissidia is the only FF game that is like that and frankly it gets old quick and how do you expect them to input 493 Pokemon and 470 different attacks into one Tenkaichi fighting like game on a Nintendo gaming console around this time?
