Gardevoir, Mewtwo, Lucario...

Any humanoid Pokémon, really

Although there's an artist turning all the Pokémon into lovely girls, even Solrock and Magnemite

Uh, Orph, have you even played Red and Blue?

The next time you meet Green is in the Pokémon Tower, and his Raticate is gone

It's practically screaming it at you that it died somewhere between the SS Anne and Lavender Town, not that subtle

No less then ten times, actually. And, I'm pretty sure that the PC box system works for more then just you. Really, think about it. He stated that he has over 50 Pokemon. It's more likely that he didn't think it performed well in battle and decided to put it in a PC box.

122. The games never really were screaming that was the case. They may have left it ambiguous to let imaginations run wild, though.

Pffft, you're no fun xD

It's fun to make Pokémon games darker than they should be

It's funner to make kids games in general darker then they should be. Why do you think there are so many Pokemon Creepypastas?

If you read some Dex entries, Pokemon can be quite the nightmare fuel
As they should be. Something about Pokemon has to stay consistent with the natural gruesomeness that it's kid-friendly advertisement means to downplay.

Because, all things considered, the Pokemon World as it's presented, for the most part, manages to be far less interesting than our own, and Pokemon are simply presented as different sprites and models with different movesets- but in terms of actually being unique, you can only find evidence of that in the text. It's not something you see, often, and once a Pokemon is yours, they might as well be anything else.

I'd say it's partly a problem with the setting being a hyper-idealized alternative world to our own, and in a big way that never deviate far from their core concept.

Like the combat system. I cannot think of another modern jrpg that still uses a system as simplistic.
There's of course the mentality of if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but I'd love to see some more real-time user input, as well as getting rid of the static ground circles. have our mons leap at each other on a larger 3D plane, have them switch positions slightly after attacking or dodging; it could be purely cosmetic, but it would do wonders for the immersion. Even something as little as being able to control the camera slightly, like in FE:A.

I could absolutely go for small timing puzzles during certain attacks as well. Say your Elektrike tackles a Wurmple. It'd leap forth, and right before impact a small reticle pops up on the Wurmple; tap it in time, and your dog thing performs a strike to the left. Another pops up, tap it and it strikes in another way. Tap the third one for a "finisher", all this accompanied by some really feel-good sound effects, like when you hit things in Zelda. It then hops past Wurmple, dust being thrown up in the air as it lands, and it turns around, the battle continuing from this switched perspective. As a result of your tapping, this attack causes a bit more damage than if you hadn't done it (heck, replace the critical hits with this; then you wouldn't have to worry about knocking out shinies).

All I'm saying is, give me more fun stuff to do in battle, and make me feel closer to my partners. :P

Oh shit, certain cutting attacks can make you slo mo-slice things, Metal Gear Rising-style.

Well, even if not QTE, I would be ecstatic if Pokemon decided to ward off the genre fatigue of incredibly standard Turn Based Roleplaying games (it's truly amazing how plain the battle system in Pokemon is) by shaking up the battle system.

Heck, people get on the Final Fantasy games for being samey between entries, but even they realized that changes were necessary between entries to keep people interested. Though it helps that Pokemon attracts a lot of children, who won't care either way, diehard fans who are the same, and older crowds who don't invest in every entry. But really, what Pokemon does isn't all that different than what Call of Duty does, and it's lucky to have survived the RPG revolution (where RPGs started to realize that standard Turn-Based games that were samey even between franchises were creating genre fatigue on a massive scale), because they won't really have to deal with any solid resistance to their battle system methods for a good number of years- possibly even another decade.
