Eva Unit 01 has Yui Ikari's soul in it, which is the only reason he survived several Angel attacks

Namely the first,10th (the one that somehow projected it's shadow into the sky while absorbing everything) and 14th Angel attacks

Quite spectacularly too...

How much more BAMF can you get than ripping your way out of your enemy's own shadow?

Just the first and second movies. I'm waiting for the third to get dubbed before watching it, and I've been planning to finish the show (Which I've been stalled on episode 3 of for a few years) to get that ending.

Though I did read up to volume 3 of the manga when I was...I'd say 10 years younger than I am. Read it, got to a page where Shinji sees Rei's nips, and realized that I probably shouldn't have been reading that. It's ironic, because I later started reading Ranma 1/2 no problem, though I can't say if it was around the same time. And I watched Burn-Up and its sequel probably a year earlier, so ¯\_('～`)_/¯

Nah, I'll probably continue with the movies and watch the show later. Didn't have many problems with the first two movies and everytime I start the show I just don't have the enthusiasm to keep going, largely because I know I'm rewatching things I've already experienced before (and by before I'm referring to when I tried the show before, not the movies).

One day, though.

I couldn't imagine watching them that way round, at least with the series knowledge you can imagine the characters aren't pancake flat.
 
The fact that the movies use some of the tracks from Kare Kano's delicious OST helps.

You could take it the other way, though. If you see something that is supposedly the inferior version to something else and enjoy it, or heck, even don't enjoy it, then when you actually watch the original you'll feel a lot more fulfilled and satisfied in the end.

Films made me appreciate the series more.

Guess I'd better get down to the Co-op before they close. Feel like some Newkie Brown.

Last film will just be a montage of Anno and the rest of the crew rolling around naked in the money they have taken from everybody.
