Do games ever suck you in

Games like Mass Effect, Fallout/Elder Scrolls, and those kinds of games always draw me in and attach me to the characters, regardless of whether I'm playing someone else or not.

Tali from ME is still like my favorite lead female character in a game, Garrus/Thane as best bros, and even characters from FE Fates have gotten me attached to them. Games are a twisted form of art that meld together visual, audible, and legible entertainment into one mix that creates a beautiful experience.
