    I've never heard the "Normal" type being talked about in the Pokemon anime. For example, when Ash and his friends meet Kangaskhan and get its info on the Pokedex, it doesn't say anything about it being a Normal type. o.o;;

    No not really they only mention normal type moves
    for example Ashes battle with Agatha
    Pikachu used quick Attack against Gengar (epic Fail)
    and i think scott mentioned that normal type moves wont work against a ghost type like Gengar

    I think they dont mention it because its just the norm. No pun intended.

    So Normal type Pokemon are just supposed to be plain and boring? o.o;

    And correct me if I'm mistaken but I've never seen an episode where they talk about Steel type either.

    They are already

    And correct me if I'm mistaken but I've never seen an episode where they talk about Steel type either.

    The very last episode to air in the US was dedicated to steel types on Iron Island

    And the episode where Ash Captures Torkoal he vists the Valley of Steel

    Normal types aren't BORING most of them have the largest movepools in all of Pokemon.

    And Steel types have been mentioned many times especially in the Johto region (Skarmory episode).

    If I remember correctly it may be mentioned when Ash encountered
    either Snorlax, Jigglypuff, or Clefairy in the older episodes.

    Ash has 28+ badges and still doesn't know what moves hurt ghost pokemon, what a twerp!
    I think that in the anime, "Normal" has the meaning of "regular", or "common". A tackle can't be a Water move, it is a regular attack. However, I don't believe that Hyperbeam and Superpower are Normal type in the anime, because they hurt ALL pokemon, a great deal too!

    I don't find it surprising. I'll give you the "this is a kids' show" excuse. Seriously, maybe the kids... are forgetful? :/ He's not grown, that Ash. >;(
    I don't remember that they ever mention the normal type, unless in some cases, like the example mentioned above. (That's so repetitive.)

    Maybe because the normal type, is... normal? I always thought normal types were boring until I just remembered that Hyper Beam was a normal type move.

    And to think of it, there's so many moves and Pokemon that are normal type-d. I wonder why it never gets the credit?

    Well because it's not as interesting, and we all know that. For example, when Brock says it effects this and that. Imagine him saying:

    "Yes Dawn, Thunderbolt will do damage against Glameow because it's a normal type."

    Anyway, I like normal types as I believe their only weakness is fighting attacks.

    They hardly mention it because when they talk about types, it's usually about type advantage/disadvantage. Since Normal has no type advantage and none of the main characters often go against normal types using a fighting type, I suppose there hasn't been much opportunity to mention it much.

    Think you've got it spot on there.
