Do we have to download the update?

For whatever reason I didn't download the update for Android over the weekend.

At this point I don't want to download it. I like getting extra XP for Great and Excellent throws!

Is there anything anyplace that says something bad will happen if I don't download the update?

The app will become unstable and it'll annoy you until you actually download it. Even though this update removed most of the stuff such as the tracking system, it is also mentioned that the game is more stabilized and causes less errors/freezing.

So it is highly recommended.

That's what I heard, but I played more than 10 hours yesterday and didn't need to restart more than usual (every 1 or 2 hours).

I am worried I'll eventually update, however, and find out the 200k XP that I got yesterday didn't count or something.

I'm sure it will let you keep the experience you gained on an older version. I can't imagine they've implemented something to deplete your experience upon updating the app.

I mean, you probably won't notice much of a change for a while in terms of it being unstable, but yeah, eventually you'll just have to update. :\

Really sucks about the nice/great/excellent throw bonus being gone though.

Well, I downloaded the update. It didn't seem to affect my XP, but after reading about the players who got reset to level 1 after the update I was worried that just about anything could happen :(

So, no bonus XP for Great/Excellent throws anymore. And the GPS seems to get lost all of the time now. Yick :(
