I used to believe they existed when I was nine or ten. I remember my friend and I were very intruiged by the paranormal, and we wanted to write a book about it. We used to borrow loads of books from our local library to research everything about anything unusual. And back then, to my less-developed mind, it all made sense. It wasn't possible to persuade people into believing in ghosts, only yourself. And you do that by finding an actual ghost. Thinking back, that probably wouldn't be the best way to start the introduction, lol. 'Hello, I've spent a very long time working on this book filled with spelling and grammar errors, and before you dive into the 260+ pages, I want you to know that nothing within these pages can possibly prove ghosts exist.'
Nowadays, I'm more of a journalist. If something like the Loch Ness Monster or the haunting of Esther Cox is to be believed, it has to be scientifically proven. Don't bother showing me a video that could easily have been edited, a picture (that's not a ghost, that's dust!) and you should definitely not expect me to believe something just because you said it. I do still watch shows like A Haunting or Ghost Hunters from time to time though, they can be interesting (even though a lot of it is obviously faked).
