Do you click spoilers?

Some people might find it annoying to click spoilers, so they often miss important text within them.

Discuss how you feel about spoilers and whether half the time they're actually necessary - do they really hide the content they are MEANT to hide?

For me, I just seem to get curious about the content and end up clicking anyway, even if it has no relation to me at all.

I ALWAYS click spoilers unless it is said beforehand that it's very NSFW or otherwise bad. So yeah ~

I always click spoilers. I'm a very curious person, so having something hidden from me that I can just as easily see is something that I often do, even if I'm not interested in anything else within that post that I read beforehand.

Most of the time, spoilers aren't used much for what they were intended for... hiding things that can spoil something for someone interested in whatever it is that has the spoiler tags around it. Often they're just used to make posts appear shorter so people who are too lazy to read a rather long reply would just run along.

Spoilers aren't much of use on this forum, since Pokemon games don't really have much of a plot besides beating whatever malicious team is out to do whatever. If people are talking about something else, maybe in the Entertainment forums, they don't usually use them anyway... or, if everyone else does, there'll always be someone who doesn't.

I don't mind knowing the end of a story before I've finished it — I'm more interested in how that end is achieved; so yes, I do usually open them.

I have no self control; I always end up clicking the spoilers. Most of the time it seems they're used to save space or make something appear smaller. Heh, maybe the name spoiler should be changed. xD

I rarely post them, though, because posting in OVP doesn't bring up the use for them. I need to go discuss things more.

Also, does anyone remember when the spoiler tags were pop-ups? How awesome were those? XD

Yes. Sometimes I ignore them when there's a warning before it. Like "OMG there's porn in it do not open!!". Sure hell not.
