    Karping is the act of taking down a gym, only to defend your new found territory with our splashtastic friend, Magikarp. Sometimes it's just for laughs, because honestly, who doesn't find it hilarious to see a Magikarp defending a gym? Other times it's to send a message to the other teams - an insult of sorts after taking down their closely held gym. This trend has become so popular, someone even 'karped' the gym at the White House [link].

    Do you participate in 'Karping?' Have you seen other gyms where this is happening?

    ... hahaha. I was not aware that this was a thing but oh god I love it. I don't know who thought up this idea but it's one of the funniest things I've seen in a good while. Big respect to The Donald for his White House cameo! Obviously you can tell this isn't something I've ever done myself and it isn't something I've ever seen happen to the gyms around my area but I love the idea of it and I'm now thinking of trying it out to see what the people in the village's FB group say. Hoping this trend makes it over here soon as we could use a laugh!
     
    The only thing that sucks about this is the fact that other players can't see what you name your pokemon, if they could it would make the Magikarp jokes way more hilarious.
     
    Since I've posted this, I've seen it personally a few times at some local gyms.

    It's not only hilarious, but if it's your team's gym and no one else is currently trying to take it... it's actually a very quick method of increasing prestige at that gym. Quickly decimate the Magikarp, run, repeat.

    Anyone else seen this happening around them or tried this?
