Do you feel embarassed by pokemon ?

i do know 2 people older than me who play oneis about 25 but he doesnt tell anyone the other is 16 and he doesn tmind telling people. pokecommunity is really good because now i know that people older than me do play. people get judged to easily when playing pokemon

recently, iv joined in with the "cooler" crowd at school now, but befor my other friends accepted i liked it and i bet one or two of them did too, iv not stopped being friends with them or anything like that though, and the other people i hang around with would laugh at me. i think PC is great place for pokefans to talk to each other. i think people laugh because they think its for 2 year olds, but theyve never heard of STATS or Rom hacking...lol
 
Yes. Up until I was 11, I openly said I liked pokemon. The biggest mistake I've ever made. After that I haven't spoken of pokemon, and I hope most of the people think I don't like them anymore. I'm still laughed at because I liked pokemon. Some people call me *my name here*mon. -.- I have one friend who plays pokemon, one year older than me. He's a great guy. But my closest friend doesn't play anymore, and I will never tell him that I play. (He played about 4-5 years ago.)
 
I'm 19 and I freely admit that I'm a fanatic. I don't care what people have to say about it. (And I've heard some pretty funny stuff, too.)

It's all about how willing you are to take criticism about it. I am; people who do criticize it are ignorant.
 
I'm currently 12 soon to be 13 and all my know, but I got into a fight with a friend and so he used the fact to get me humiliated.

And that is really really REALLY immature. Unbelievable how people judge.
 
I'm more of a "Closet Trainer" myself. I have a few friends who like it as well. I am addicted to the games, but I would never be caught dead in public doing anything Pokemon-related at my age.

Whenever my stepdad walks in, I minimize down the PC Forums, any sprite comics I'm working on, etc. Of course, if you saw a kid minimize a window down as soon as you walked into the room, you'd have a pretty strong assumption on what they were doing. I had no choice but to eventually tell him I have been getting involved with Pokemon, since it's a great alternative to looking like a porn addict.
 
Unfortuantely yes. I would be beaten into the ground by humiliation if I told people i played D:
 
Not really, I like pokemon and don't care if people say anything. I've introduced some people to the games and now they play.
 
Heh, I am embarrassed by my fandom for Pokemon. :x I try to hide it. I'd only tell someone if I know they're also a fan.
 
i'm 16 and apart from my family, only one of my bff knows i play it. she likes pokemon too; she doesn't play any of the gameboy or ds games or anything like that, but we get eathother pokemon stuff all the time [shirts, toys, etc].
tbh, i AM a bit embarrassed to admit it to some people. :|
 
I'm 15 turning 16 in a few months and i have a pokemon Bag that i bring to school almost everyday lol and a pencil case So i don't think I'm embarrassed

I'm 17, and I have a few friends that play, and I don't mind bringing my DS out in public when I'm bored to play it, and I always play it when I'm going to one of my school's away football games during the bus rides. (I'm in band so I have to go. :V) Most people I know that don't play, don't really care, unless you start trying to talk to them about it. So I really only just talk about Pokemon with my friends that play it.
 
I'm 20 and I don't try and hide the fact that I like Pokémon. All of my friends know (and most of them like it too...) as does most of my close family. Generally I don't advertise it in public, but I don't really care if people know.

Lining up with all the little kids to get my Platinum preorder was an interesting experience...
 
Well I dont exactly feel embarassed because, I dont really like pokemon, I just like lucario and riolu thats about it. If I did like pokemon I wouldnt feel embarassed in any way because really who cares about what you like and dislike?

Sorry to be naive and I'm not having a go at you by any means, but if you only like Lucario and Riolu, then what exactly keeps you posting on the forum? Or what keeps you intrigued about them?

Would be interesting to find out : )
