That about sums it up. It's a Kyocera-something-or-another. I didn't even ask for it, my parents just left it on my desk a few weeks after I got my permit and said "You'll need this when you start driving more." I've had a cellphone for quite while now and it doesn't get used a whole lot. According to said phone, my average call length is eleven seconds. Just enough time for me to say "Mom, please come pick me up so I'm not sleeping at the theatre" or "Where the heck are you? Oh -- Okay. Bye."
I usually just use it as a clock and phonebook, rather than an actual phone. Poor phone. When we went to add my sister's phone to the plan, the guy asked if "this person even knows they have a phone."
I actually wrote an article about how all these younger kids don't need cellphones, amongst other things. When I suggested it at the meeting, it ticked several people off. I'm sorry, but the average kid doesn't need a cellphone. At least not any I've met. They use the phones to get each other in trouble at school and have conversations about what colour tee they're wearing.
I mean, I know cellphones have many uses and are important and common place and all that... But even though cellphones have been around since the 70s, they weren't really that common until the late 80s/early 90s-ish. (Being hand-wavy here.)
I dunno, I think theatre has just made me naturally adverse to them. I'm rambling, so I'm cutting myself off. |D
