Yes, it's not a good feeling when your ears pop on a plane hehe...
Always make sure to have gum handy! For some reason, my ears don't pop so easily...
 
My ears don't pop easily either. But then again... the last time I was on a plane was when I was 10 going to Florida. I remember my ears popping on a Girl Scout trip somewhere and we had to go up some mountain so our ears popped... that wasn't fun! But then again... nothing involving Girl Scouts was fun for me...

But yeah, having pierced ears wouldn't affect your ears popping...
