I was wondering if anybody else nicknames their Pokemon. I do! I think it's better to give your Pokemon a nickname than having the same old original name. It makes the Pokemon more unique I think.

    Here is my Teams names:

    Infernape: Inferna (female)
    Sneasel: Polaris(female)
    Roserade: Puffy (female)
    Mantine: Silver (male)
    Gabite: Sharky (male)
    Raichu: Sparx (male)

Nope, not creative enough. I would just end up using the first couple of letters when I did though. (Tyranitar ==> Tyran)

I give some japanese names, like rose in japanese is bara so I named ny roserade that

I nickname all my Pokemon. :) I get mad when I get trades and they either don't have a nickname or have a stupid one. I hate how the Pokemons name is in all caps too...

    I always nickname my pokemon.

For example, Bulbasaur is just a name of its species. So, it needs a nickname. Like we are of the human species, our parents didn't name us Human.

I NEVER give nicknames to my Pokémon. To me, the original species name is better.

...though it would be fun to name a Blaziken "Squirtle"...

    I do but I don't if I can't think of a name. I never nickname my Typhlosion

    -rocklees cousin

i name my pokemon sometimes...i had my swampert since sapphire (sapphire----->Ruby------>emerald---->diamond) i call him SWAMPY ^___^

    i have

lvl 22. Honchrow- Roch(i dont know why...)
    lvl 3. Leafyon-Bud (like bud of a tree...hehe)
    lvl 28. Glacion-Slick(ice is slippery)
    lvl 1. Jolteon-Thundah(accompanies lightning)
    lvl 21. Flareon-Torch(fire torches things...)
lvl 100. Swampert-SWAMPY(i dont know why...see history of SWAMPY above my team)

i choose the eeve evos because of their speed..

Currently working on this team, working out bugs...

    tips? PM me

I name all my pokemon because it makes them feel
more special and are funner to battle with
the only i dont name them is when
1 will never use them and keep them in my pc
    2.im going to trade them
    3. they already like their original pkm name
4.also legendaries ,which i dont think your suppose to name anyway

I never name my pokemon for some odd reason. I just like being original and boring I guess. :\

I love nicknaming them! =D I make up names, too, like "Moomerag" and "Med'cha." That's my favorite part of the whole catching process, is naming them afterward.

I love to nickname Pokemon- but I only nickname the ones I breed and EV train.

    Porygon-Z (Epilepsy)
    Dusknoir (Light)
    Tyranitar (Terra)
    Rhyperior (Mason)
    Infernape (Sims)
Slowbro (Largo) (The name for an exceptionally slow tempo)
Dragonite (Herman) (Named after Herman Li, lead guitarist of DragonForce.)
Gallade (Slash) (Named after Slash, lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses)
Metagross (Monarch) (Named after Micheal Monarch, lead guitarist of Steppenwolf from 1967-1969)
Blissey (Angie) (Not intentionally named after the Rolling Stones song, but I'll go with it)

It makes them more personal to me. I truly believe that a trainer's strength depends on his bond with his Pokemon. :D

In fact, I can never use Pokemon that don't have my OT, or weren't bred/ caught myself.

In my Diamond all my pokemon have their original names cuz... well almost my entire team is made up from either my emerald or my friends pokemon

    Blaziken - Emerald
    Garchomp - Diamond
    Venusaur - Friends LG
Empoleon - GTS (It had good stats and rare attacks o.o)
    Manectric - My brothers emerald
    Salamence - My emerald

However in my emerald since i restarted it I named my team's pokemon o.o

Sceptile - Hayate (Gekkou Hayate from Naruto and Sceptile's a Gecko o.O)
Gardevoir - Genji (Iuno sounds cool)
RED GYARADOS =D - Mizuki (Mizu = Water in japanese)
Slugma - Katon (Fire in japanese)
    Swellow - HawkEye (sounds cool)
