Well it's in the title! :D
    Wha

Gary was scrapped. Something tells me Paul will die, a slow, painful... miserable... death.

(Or just put on a bus)

Yes, Paul will be scrapped. There is nothing more to do with his character, it's already been announced that Ash will get a new rival I believe, and . . . that's all I got actually. Yeah.

Possibly not, maybe he will travel to Isshu as Ash does too.

But the fact I want to punch the guy in the face makes me want him to not return.

    but it's interesting idea! :D

Yah, I don't think Paul will be staying either.
All of the rivals along with Dawn will be leaving next Generation.
And yes, Ash gets another rival thankfully.
I like it when Ash gets rivals ^^

After the Sinnoh League and Paul's departure, it basically concludes the story with his rivalry against Ash. By this point, Paul will either continue his ways of training or come to realize what Ash has been saying was right all along. I just hope Paul gets an ending that doesn't seem so cheesy. As much as I hated his ways, he was still one of Ash's better rivals.

Paul's next move would probably be to return to Kanto and challenge the Battle Frontier, where later he will then have his rematch against Brandon. Either way, I doubt he'll stay in the show.

I believe, like Vernikova mentioned above, earlier this year there was news that Ash would receive a new rival with a similar personality to Paul's. So, if that's the case, then it wouldn't make sense to keep Paul anyway. :\

Did Ash have a rival in the Hoenn region? I know he did when the Evergrande Conference came around.
    Kanto and Johto- Gary
    Hoenn-?
    Sinnoh- Paul, Barry, Nando
There was Morrison, but he was introduced later in the show. He wasn't like a major on-going rival like you might consider Gary or Paul, but he did appear a few times and ended up competing against Ash in the Hoenn League. Then there was his League Rival, Tyson, who ended up winning the Hoenn League after defeating Ash in the Top 8.

Well whatever end Paul meets, it'll be a sad one since he was such a developed character.

I would of liked a battle between paul and Gary, and maybe Paul would get the message from Gary, but something tells me he won't get it and just disappear like Misty and Max.

His pokemon will turn on him and tear him to pieces.

Nah. In all reality he'll just pull a Gary.

I have a feeling that we won't hear him say "Thanks Ash" or anything at all. He'll probably lose against Ash and be confused. He's been a pretty powerful trainer going through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. He's beaten trainers left and right (without beating any leagues or Brandon though) yet he lost to this trainer who symbolizes everything Paul isn't, his polar opposite.

I hope he does come back in Isshu but not as he was before and yet nothing like Ash. Someone who still wants power but changes his methods somewhat and is a little less mean to his pokemon, maybe even seeing them as equals and actualy raising pokemon from the ground up...

Yes to the title, no to the poll.

As long as he doesn't pull a Gary at the end I'll be fine with all of it though.
...or Ursaring could eat him. /joke

Paul is his last rival that i still in the Pokeleague. It depends on what happens. Eather Ash will be beaten by Paul or Ash will win the League for once.

Well actully Paul and Barry have a battle first but I think Paul will win.

Ok I take back what I said. Paul Berry and nando are not the only ones. I forgot about the smart one with glasses that was battleing with Dawn in the Herthome City Tournument.

    Ash beats Nando
Paul Beats Ash or guy with glasses
    Ash beats Paul
    Glasses guy beats Ash.
So Ash probably will not win.

Actually, the battle line-up as it stands right now is, and I'll keep this as a spoiler since not everybody coming to this thread keeps up with the Japanese episodes...

    Spoiler:

If you look at the spoiler, you'll notice I mentioned Conway - he is the guy with the glasses.

In other news, I do agree with Silver25 though. I don't think Paul will come out and say "Ash, you were right," or something along those lines directly. I assume Paul will come to the point where he seems confused and will decide to go back to Kanto challenging the Battle Frontier and working on improving his training tactics.

League rivals aren't the same as "over a region rivals" since they appear so late in the journey to be considered as such, right?

I think it would be silly if they kept Paul though. Having two rivals that supposedly act the same would be boring especially since Paul is such a flat character. Hopefully, they'll make this rival an even better one.

    Spoiler:

    Good idea.

His final episode will consist of him walking into the sunset as Ash and co. watch on, smirking and yet agreeing to change his ideals all the same. Maybe a handwave to those behind him without turning around.

This is what my magical powers of mass guessing foresee.

If he's lucky, he shall be mentioned in passing or brought up as a cameo in future seasons, forever known as 'that jerk who abused that Chimchar-now-Infernape which shall also be scrapped come next season'.

This is also what my magical powers foresee.
