Do you think there will be gen 4 remakes?

I think there will be, though it will be a long time before they do as each remake takes about 4 years to make, probably because they are waiting for the original games to become irrelevant. A mega magmortar, electivire, and rhyperior would be sweet, and a mega arceus would be op. ntm that when gen 4 gets megas, there will be garchomp for sure, which is good, and bad for those who had a hard time with cynthiea. Gen 4 is my fav gen, and I wasn't disappointed with the older gen remakes. If this comes in time, it would be a step up for pokemon.

I don't think Gen 4 remakes will come soon, not until the 3DS becomes obsolete and Nintendo releases a new portable console without DS support, or until GF/TPCi discontinues the support for Gen 5 -> Gen 6 transfer in the Pokémon Bank for some reason.

As long as the original games can be played and Pokémon can be transferred using only current hardware, I don't see them announcing Gen 4 remakes.

Not for a long time I think. I can foresee it coming in the far future, maybe 5 or so years. Of course it hurts to say that since gen 4 is my favorite. :'( I think there will be at least a new console before gen 4 remakes come- I mean, the graphical gap between RSE and ORAS was much more massive than that between DPPT and ORAS so I think it'll be a while.

I agree, however I am excited to see if we get a game like hg/ss where we could go to new regions. A sinnoh/Unova one would be quite exciting, however i'm not sure how exactly it would get created. Maybe by the time we have a new handheld, we'll get like a +50 to the level cap and maybe just longer games in general.

Do I think remakes will be happening? Maybe.

Do I want to see remakes happen? Probably.

Will Nintendo/Game Freak make remakes? Very likely, for the money.

The mechanics brought in the Sinnoh games weren't no where as dire as the need for Gen 3 remakes though, so it may not be a while to we even hear even a whiff of those.

I would love to see it happen, but I agree that it probably will not happen soon.

The question follows whether they will remake HG/SS as the first remake of a remake. Will they really take it that far? I believe if Gen IV remakes were to happen, it would only be for Platinum.

I think that DPP will be remade sometime within the next 3-5 years, probably as part of either gen 7 or gen 8. Although current systems still play DS games, it's getting harder to move Pokemon forward several generations, and there are probably a lot of people who would like to play gen 4 again (hopefully without some of the saving lag). Nintendo also isn't doing that well, so they may put more pressure on GF to make more games, and remakes probably take less effort overall (because the story, basic map layouts, etc., already exist). Remakes = profit. That said, I think it'll be at least a couple years before such remakes are announced. I suppose it's possible that VC remakes could be released instead, but that seems unlikely to me because wifi was a big part of DPP, so it seems more probable that they would remake them for a modern system with working servers.

There will be, most likely, based on their pattern, but as we've said in our above posts, it might take a while. I personally am looking forward to see what they have in store for us in regards to their remakes; it's exciting.

I think we'll see them after whatever games come after Sun & Moon. Hopefully they follow the HeartGold/SoulSilver remake model where they took stuff from the 3rd version game (Crystal), instead of the OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire model where it was just Ruby/Sapphire in 3D. I would still be playing AlphaSapphire today if it was more like Emerald.

That's not to say I didn't enjoy them. That first playthrough was incredible. Music was great, graphics great, but once the nostalgia trip wore off, I realized they weren't as good as I wanted them to be.
