For competative battling, do you use your personal favorites, even if they don't seem to fit the team or even if the Pokemon is generally overall bad? Or do you strive to win so much, you use a solid team of generics? Opinions plz.

Yes.. I use my favourites even though they might not be all maxed-out stats wise. Just something I've always done.

'Course! ^^ If we all used the best pokemon stat wise, we'd all probably have the same pokemon, and that wouldn't be that fun. :( I find Cherrim fun to use, its stats might suck, but the stratergies I've used with it have beaten some Legendarys even on PBR. I think its more about movesets and stratergies in the mainrun. :] And why use pokemon dislike, theres nothing fun about it.

Grass Pokemon are certainly not the most effective type but I do use mostly grass Pokemon because I prefer them to others.

I dont know if I do use Favorites. But mostly my whole team is made up of favorite pokemon. So probably yeah. I dont do much Wi-Fi battling, so I dont really know how good my team really is. =D

of course i use favourites were would i be now without my trusty luxray?....
well i suppose where i am now just without a luxray.....

anyway the point is yeah i do!

I always have atleast 1 favorite in my team.

    Azelf, Heracross, Infernape, Gengar.

And then I always have atleast one competitive favorite.

    SpecsMence, Revenge Killing Weavile, HeraScarf

Perhaps this should be under General Pokemon Discussion? It is not specifically related to the 4th gen.

In any case, I do use favorites. However, my favorites tend to be my favorites because they are solid pokemon in competitive battling.

Obviously I don't use my absolute favorite (guess who) in competitive battling, but I still use the Pokemon I like. I like Swampert, and Swampert just happens to be a great competitive battler. :D

Sometimes I'm forced to use Pokemon I don't like however. Who can honestly say Blissey is their favorite Pokemon? But I usually grow to like the Pokemon I use, like I grew to like Dusknoir and Magnezone.

I always use my Gengar in battle because it's my most powerful Pokemon and is my only trump card, but I generally only have 10-20 Pokemon I use for battling. I rarely battle (actually I've decided to quit battling until further notice), so I only need a small range of Pokemon.

Of course. People always tell me that Mawile and Hypno are bad, but I love them to death :P

yeah i use my favorites. They arent the best batch but most opponents aren't prepared for the sort of pokemon i have, which is why i've won quite a few battles with them. would you expect a Rapidash?

i simply love using dragon types, lucario, blaizken, infernape and electivire.

i like pokemon that are elegant and majestic

for example floatzel has a pathetic view from the back thats why i hate it
