Because I've noticed other forums having one and it's hard to look for certain topics. I don't want to start a new thread for a question that has already been answered. Thank you very much.
Regarding your last sentence, it is normally in the line that has the User CP, Rules, FAQ and whatnot links, but you might be using the default skin which is Forever Standing, and wasn't designed with the Seach Function button.
Actually, "Search" and "Advanced Search" resides within the drop-down list upon clicking "More" on Forever Standing. That and a collection of other forum skins now have the "Quick Search" field located on the top right corner of the page.
