It's a neat site. You can also get Pokemon from that site but the Pokemon you get from it are illegal and thus they take precautions so you can put them on the GTS or anything. Still, it's a good place to get Egg Moves and Perfect IV Dittos for breeding fabulous IV bred Pokemon (though some might consider this cheating a bit? Whatever).

The IV guys in the games do a pretty good job at telling you the general IV range + perfect IVs in specific stats at least.

Though I did constantly use Max Repel and Revive and Hyper Potion between trainer battles.
