Well, I did convert the original screenshot by default, so I guess that's how it turned out XD

3. I use a program not named GIMP to scale down and crop my images because it takes away less of the quality than GIMP does. I use GIMP to apply brushes and change the file type, though.

What program would that be?

Without converting, it seemingly looks the same, but here's the outcome when I don't duplicate the layer and set the layer mode to Overlay:

The result below is what happens when I duplicate the layer and use Overlay. Running a 20x20px Gaussian Blur on IRC and making the layer Overlay seems to have the same effect.

5. It's Photo Plus SE... I have the free version, which is kinda limited, but it still does a lot more than MS Photo Manager could, and, even with the free version, I can still get quality crops and image scalings. One of the only things that I wish I could do with it was change the file type, which I can only change it to the program's own special file type unless I leave it as it's original file type. Photo Plus SE is free to download, and it never expires, so long as you don't wipe you computer and have a valid email. I occasionally get good software offers from them, but I never take them.
