Finished Clannad and after story. Definitely those that have strong family ties and can relate to it will have more fun than those that don't. I loved it. One of the very few anime I plan to buy the blu ray set of whenever I get a job. It really deserves all praise it gets, imo. Cried like a baby at in the second half of after story. Thanks to me being spoiled, it wasn't devastating, though. I knew what'd happen, after all. Anyway, great series. Recommendation to any anime or non anime fan from me.

You suck, pokey. o3o And I'd recommend it to non anime fans only if they're, like, the kind who're into emotional stuff. Or those that just like seeing stuff based around families or something.

No anime, apart from Death Note or FMA:B maybe, comes to mind when I think if they can appeal to almost every non anime person. Most I love are acquired taste anyway.

I'd suggest various films. Kiki's Delivery Service, Millennium Actress, Grave of the Fireflies, Ghost in the Shell, The Ideon: Be Invoked, Night on the Galactic Railroad, Adolescence of Utena and probably others like those by Shinkai.

As for series the obvious ones with good dubbing like GITS, Bebop, FLCL, Haibane Renmei, Beck and Freedom. Brotherhood, Monster and perhaps comedy things like Nichijou would be good as well.

Clannad has too many ''cute'' girls and those pretty awful character designs, I am a fan of the show but my mind had already been warped before watching. First time anime watchers should watch something a little ''classy''.
