It's a broad term, and people use it however they want.
Some seem to think there is an absolute way of being an otaku, though, for some reason.

Why is it just now I figure out how the Dream Pal map in the Dream World works?

Gonna be utilizing the DW a lot more, especially now that I sent a ticket regarding the Eeveelution problem and whatnot. Also, got a Shinx with Magnet Rise, which is pretty damn sweet :3
