Say what is the best combination for starters in a double battle (no special pokemon) and why.

    Togekiss and Rhyperior(Lightning Rod)

Togekiss has powerful moves, but is weak to electric attacks. Rhyperior's Lightning Rod draws in all electric attacks, and being part ground, they have no effect. As an added bonus, Rhyperior can learn earthquake, one of the most powerful ground attacks (second only to fissure). It strikes all pokemon in battle, or in this case, just both foes. This is because Togekiss is a flying type, so it's immune to earthquake.

Slaking (with Swords Dance, Return, Rock Slide, and Earthquake) and Xatu (Skill Swap, whatever else suits you). Skill Swap away Slaking's Truant ability and watch him decimate things. I choose Xatu as his partner because it's the only skill swapper that I can think of that's immune to Earthquake, which is important to consider in doubles.

Yeah, I usually have an Aerodactyl and Gyarados out first. They both have EQ, and Aerodactyl has Rock Slide, so I can usually hit both defending Pokemon. I've also sent a Vaporeon and Starmie out. (Starmie holding a Mystic Water). While not that special as lead Pokemon, the Starmie can usually stay alive itself with Recover, and keep Vaporeon alive by using Surf, which hit everyone. And Vaporeon has Water Absorb.

    best team ever is clearly:
    typhlosion& sceptile

they work perfectly together& both are FAST heavy hitters

A Worry Seeder is a MUCH better option, as it negates Slaking's ability AND makes him an insomniac. Its the only good use of that move, really.

For me it would have to be, Leech Seeder, Toxic Spiker, Fly, Dig(not recommended), or Dive. Just waste time as their health is decimated.

Beginnings of a sandstorm doubles team here...
    how about:
T-Tar, EQ, Rockslide, and two others and
Skarm with Spikes/SR, Whirlwind, DrillPeck and something else?

    What about this:

    Slowking@Life orb
    -Earthquake
    -Return
    -Sucker Punch
    -Fire punch

    With a:

    Slowking@Leftovers
    -Swagger
    -Skill swap
    -Psychic
    -Slack off

First Skill swap on Slaking swo it has Own tempo and then start boosting it with Swaggers. Psychic is to kill any fighting types anmd slack off is to live longer.

Thats gonna hurt if it gets hit by confusion :P

I forgot all about the existence of Worry Seed. XD

I saw a Youtube PBR battle with some guy who led with Abomasnow and an Ice body Walrein holding leftovers. The abomasnow blizzard'd everything that the opponent had while the stallrein just wall'd everything and even set up a Defence curl + Ice Ball combo. It was fun to watch, but still easily counterable. :P

That's the point of skill swapping Own Tempo on it, Swagger will give it the attack boost, but it won't confuse it. :P

I hav a matchup that is similar...Slaking(Brick Break, Shadow Ball, Aerial Ace, Earthquake), Claydol(Psychic, Shadow Ball, Ancientpower, Skill Swap). Claydol levitates too.

    Tyranitar and Garchomp.

Not "special" pokemon, as they're easily obtainable.compared to Salamence and Dragonite.

    Tyranitar's Sandstream makes Garchomp evasive.

    They're both immune to Electric.

    Both Pseudo-Legendaries.

Both learn extremely strong attacks, are fast, and can attack both physical and special sides of the spectrum.

i used to have a great team, lost my game... :(
but it was based around one dude with lots of attack for earthquake and a dragonite as backup with four diferent types of moves, to try getting as many super effectives as possible... i always need a flyer second as i abuse earthquake.

A similar combo goes Slowbro and Slaking. The main difference is that Slowbro can Swagger Slaking now, and he isn't confused by it.

How about Exeguttor and Flareon/Arcanine? Since Flareon/Arcanine has the 'Flash Fire' Ability making it immune to fire, If Exeguttor uses Skill Swap with Flareon/Arcanine, Exeguttor will be Immune to fire type pokemon!

though while skill swap is a double battle must especially with slaking, bringing out slaking first and skill swap first means that you could waste the turn you could be using to set up stealth rock
while earthquake attacks both opponents the damage is only 75% of its normal hit rating meaning your weakening your attacks and in competitive battling weakening your attacks is bad =P
helping hand with its priority, however can wreck teams with scizor lucario or anything with a priority move
while walls are still useful in Double battles the fact that the opponents pokemon can attack twice on a wall makes walls a lot less useful, fast sweepers are much more prevalently used in double battles
though my personal lead in double battles is azelf and gengar
azelf sets up first a stealth rock and gengar protects hopefully drawing both attacks due to its fragileness
azelf explodes hopefully killing both team members on opposing sides if not gengar will finish it off with either ,t bolt, shadow ball ,focus blast
