DP106 Discussion (Spoiler Alert!)

I don't see why every character in the anime should cater to a tired old stereotype, i.e. Satoshi gets the OMGAWESOME Pokémon, new!girl gets the small, cute Pokémon and Takeshi gets all the quirky ones that no one reall cares about. The claim that certain Pokémon 'fit' or 'don't fit' a certain character just isn't a valid point any more, at least not to fans with any degree of intelligence. Most of those claims come down to a person's favourite Pokémon, and of course the most popular choice of recent times is Lucario, with endless streams of fans insisting that Satoshi should get Riolu/Lucario, simply because the species 'fits' him. People then insist that Pokémon already on Satoshi's roster - Glion and Mukubird, as I said before, are the most popular targets - should be sent to Ookido or released, ignoring the fact that Satoshi always has the common Flying-type of a region - at least for that region - and the massive character development given to Glion.

Manmoo is a refreshing change for Dawn - it certainly beats Pochama being shoved in our faces every ten seconds - and it should make for some interesting interaction. One wonders if it will be used for contests or primarily for battling, or both even, if only to muscle in even more upon Pochama's territory.

Hun Im sure the only reason some of us are saying it does not fit her is because of her status as a coordinator. If you pay much attention to the way she competes its obvious that Mamoswine/Piloswine does not match her. Its similar to Buizel. Now in my opinion we already see enough Ice attacks in Dawns appeals so Mamoswine also is weak to her there for me. I think she should get a frosslass.^.^

Lol on the last one. I was meaning if she gets an Ice type that should be it. The heroes never get ghost type pokemon. And it would have more impressive contest combinations.

But yeah, seeing as she already has Inomoo and will soon have Manmoo it's rather a moot point to say "Hikari should have x Pokémon".

Agreed on the point about Ghost-types, though. Satoshi's brief tenure in Kanto is the only ownership of a Ghost-type by a main character, if I recall correctly.

Yeah. And I know, I personally do not like the choice they made to give her such an odd pokemon but I am curious to see how she will use it. But, I am tired of her using Piplup in the contest battles so she can use the brute there.

Why can't fans simply just accept certain things? I mean honestly, does EVERY single pokemon Hikari has needs to be ridiculously cute? May, Drew, HARLEY...every coordinator ever doesn't have only cute/pretty pokemon. I mean the trade that happened was hinted upon from the begining. Just because one happened doesn't mean there are going to be a bajillion other trades. I mean why can't Hikari have a Mamoswine? Because it can't obey her? It looks like next episode Pilo is going to evolve and it is going to get over this whole thing. Also, who would trade with her? Ash loves his pokemon. Brock does too. Besides, if there is a trade then ever more fans are going to complain. My goodness people let the girl have her Mammoth-pig mutant. It's not a big deal...

Well the ad was about how you can download Darkrai from the Wi-fi mystery gift thing if you have Pocket Monsters Platinum. Not exactly sure what they were saying though.

Several things
1. The Darkrai event is about Newmoon Island, it is now available in Japan.
2.Gliscor is suppose to learn all the elemental fangs. I really hope Satoshi actually decides to use the poor Moe Scorpion in the battle. I mean he's becoming as useful as Sakura is from the first Naruto series >_>
3. Manmoo is amazing. However, it really is becoming a second Charizard. Though it's really odd, Inomoo loved her in DP 105.
4. 9/10 episode really funny. Moescor did something useful and one of my faorite pokemon premiered. Though the tusks are kind of short so it maybe a girl.

This episode is pretty fun! Let's see...

- The Pokemon DP anime team is not lazy at all. They changed Mamoswine back to Piloswine just for this episode. XD

- Piloswine's eyes are so small. LOL

- I wish Satoshi could believe in Gliscor's ability more... Gliscor needs more love! (Hugs Gliscor) Oh and I could sense that Gliscor would debut in the upcoming gym battle. Ganbare!!

It is quite intimidating, especially since it's usually pissed off. I suppose it is powerful though. Other than that, it sure does eat a lot.

Waaa! Does the series follow the rule that you need a badge to have your pokemon listen to you? xD

Anyway, I think swinub was really really cute! hmmm. yeah, I think it'll eventually end up with Dawn trying to protect Piloswine from harm (or something similar), and then Piloswine would be touched by Dawn.. then maybe evolve from there. LOL.
