Depends on your stretch of the imagination. Djinni can only change their shape and use spells. If your made-up power has anything to do with spells, be my guest and make some up. If you're talking about your human character, your magician, they can only use magic.

When you mean "magic" do you mean....beams out of thier hands and stuff like that?

Not quite. By magic I mean the summoning of imps, foliots, djinni, and all of them. They can also use spells like the djinni, but they mostly only use them to make uncooperative djinn do what they're told. Not quite super powers, more like stuff from Harry Potter.

ic; "With pleasure" Rei said. She said," Maruku..medeshe,le...die!" It was a straight on foward attack spell.

As the door slammed behind him, Roan found himself in a relatively small, square room. From each marble wall there extended a single hall. However, the hall directly before the magician was rather short--having a heavy door at its end with iron-barred glass windows to either side of the hall. Through the limited view the windows provided, Roan noticed a figure moving about. His interest aroused, the youth started forward.

Pushing the door open without hesitation, Roan was greeted with a gust of cool air. He was in the courtyard. As Byakko approached his master's side, his striped tail unconsciously flicked about. The djinn's gaze following the male's, he noticed a magician entering the courtyard some distance away.

Roan did not speak. Rather, he simply focused his jade-gold eyes upon the moving figure, studying him with a strange, cautious aggression. Long he was silent as he viewed the magician, aware of the possibility that he may be his next opponent.

I put up a claw and made a Sheild, which bounced back the attack. Instead of turning back and striking my opponent like it usually would, the spell hit a wall with a spark and a sizzle.

I smirked. "Good, very well done. You're a little stronger than I expected. But, then again, I am the great Bartimaeus. If you have any hope of defeating me, you'll have to do better than that." With that said, I raised my claw again, this time creating a green ball, which I sent flying towards the djinni, ready for it to create an explosion.

ooc:spells..I only know a few but don't forget the Inferno one Bartimaeus uses.uh can I summon an imp or foliot pleeaase? oh yeah to Kogenta's half question we're in modern England.I think.think.are we like at an orphanage or whatever where there are tons of magicians?

I sauntered after my Djinn down the hall.I had lied about not knowing my name and was pleased with how gullible my summon was.

We're in a temple:

In London, magicians have gathered in a grand temple. This temple is a place for them to rest, to learn, and to battle.

And yes, we're in Modern England. It's the same setting as in the actual Bartimaeus Trilogy series, and from what I've read it's a pretty modern setting. To be more exact, we're in London.

Of course you can summon an imp, or foliot. As long as they aren't going to be what you're using in battle. I want the djinns to be what we use to fight with.

ic: Zen dispelled the attack with a sheild. Then Rei started making a ball of flame in her grasp and shot it with all her might,it being aimed exactly where her opponent was.

OOC: Tad you got a battle partner yet, cause I'll batyle you, or anyone else really.

IC: I noticed that the fights had begun, people were dispersing, looking for a place to either test out the Djinni's they had recently summoned or to prove to the world that their lifelong partners were the best. There were a ton of people still in the crowded entry hall, but people were dispersing and fighting. I craved a battle, and knew my Djinni had potential. He was extremely stubborn though, so I hoped that he would eventually get over it. I then realized that Mastah was still standing in his summoning crile and that I hadn't allowed him time to roam yet. "You may come here, and please change from that stupid racoon form, into something more decent, and presentable." I said unto him. "But it's my favorite form," He begged. "No." Was all I said before turning around and feeling the energy come from Mastah as he changed.

I watched as a racoon changed to something else.I walked up to the boy who seemed to be commanding the Djinni thing.
"Wanna battle?Suicide here is just not itching for a fight."I grinned.
