Okay, so I have a Kingdra on my HG team that I got from the Winner's Path, and as you all know it knows Muddy Water. Well One day I thought, "It would be so cool if Muddy Water could also do Ground type damage." And it would make sence too, because it called Muddy Water, and mud is just wet dirt. So I just thought it would be so cool if in B/W if the made Duel-type attacks. They would still only be classified as one attack, but in their description it would say something like "also deals (blank)-type damage". So who thinks this would be a good idea?

    And their are other attacks that are like Muddy Water already and heres a few;
    Silver Wind (Bug/Flying)
    Avalanche (Ice/Rock)
    All Punching Moves [(type)/Fighting)
    Most Kicking Moves [(type)/Fighting)
    Steel Wing (Steel/Flying)
And of corse Muddy Water (Water/Ground)

Nah. I'd rather have it the way it is to avoid further chaos in competitive play.
And uh, no. I'd rather have Ice / Fire / Thunderpunch be the way they are and not be useless versus ghosts.

Too confusing with dual-type moves attacking dual-type mons.

That and you get stuff doing 8x, 16x damage. I'd bet there's something you could make a water/grass move - that'd do 16x damage to Geodudes and Onixes. :|

I don't think it would be a good idea. There's already enough they're trying to stuff into the game. And trying to fit triple battles onto one DS screen, I think they're overdoing it now. Double seemed like enough for me to handle, knowing I can't ever win one. It would take too much programming and time to fit in two-type moves AND triple battles into one cartridge. There's new moves too now. If they are able to program it all in, I'd be shocked.

This would be the most broken thing in the game by far

It would be far too complicated, and make competitive play even more insane. Also, it's "dual" btw.

Most moves don't even need dual types. Sure there's Muddy Water, but there are hundreds of Vine Whips, Thunderbolts, and Flamethrowers too that need only one typing.
I'd love to see Fire/Fighting move being used against an Ice/Steel type pokemon though, just to see the overkill.

One question: If this hypothetically comes to fruition, what effect would Muddy Water have on Charizard? Will this once-supereffective attack suddenly become useless because you arbitrarily attached the Ground-type to it? Will the secondary effect of "also does ground-type damamge" just not kick in and do standard 2x damage (or 4x if Charizard is roosted)? Will this effect override the existing accuracy-lowering effect?

In the event of a Dual-type attack having an negative effect, like with Half, Quarter damage and Immunity, The second type just wouldn't come into effect. At least that's how I think it would work. But know one else seems to like the idea. Oh well.

I'd rather keep it basic like they are right now. :x Its better to keep them not so complicated xD

Imagine if Heat Wave became Fire/Flying... the Parasect species would shortly thereafter go extinct.

Honestly, though, the type chart is pretty complex as it is, and I don't see a way they could effectively implement it without confusing millions of fans and enraging almost as many... the elemental rock-paper-scissors we have going on now works fairly well, I think they should keep it like that.

As much as I like this idea, I have to agree with the posters before me and say that it would complicate things too much.

That'll just allow for the potential spamming of one move since you're bound to get neutral damage on at least one of the elements. Plus, what about absorbing moves D:
