I am fairly new to pokemon hacking, though I am very familiar with the tools I have now(advance map, xse, a-mart,a-starter) on pokemon emerald. What I want to know is if it is possible to modify pre-made scripts(like the casino games,achro-mach bikes,battles...ect). I cannot figure out how but when I,for say open up the script for slot machines, scripts have a sort of import to another script which I don't know how to access and modify. Is there a tool I need or am I just not noticing something?

Alright, if there isnt one who can help me, how about I ask this: How can i access the origonal bike script and make the mach bike with adjustable speeds(press L or R for up/down)?

maybe that sounded wrong, what i meant was how can access them and be able to modify and save/compile them back into place? Tool, is it possible through avance map?(tried but couldnt figure out, using XSE)

I'm a noob too, but I'll tell you what I learned by now. (If anything I said is wrong please correct me).

You can edit some scripts in the game with XSE and advance map, in advance map, if you go to the Events tab, you can see the scripts tiles, and you can edit for example the prof. oak giving you a pokemon script and that kind of stuff. However, there's a limit to what you can do with XSE, there are things that are part of the game engine or that are "hidden" to scripting, those things have to be modified through ASM, which is harder to manipulate (I don't know about ASM, I'll read a tutorial later).
Besides that, if you want to modify a pre-made script, you have to count the number of bytes that script is occupying, think of it as an already written book, if you want to replace a page of text, you only have one page of space to fill. Here happens something similar, if you replace a pre-made script for a script that you did, and that script that you did occupies more space that what the pre-made script used to occupy, you'll mess things up.
