3rd Gen egg containing shiny?

Doesn't matter. You can get a shiny with two shiny parents, one shiny parent, or no shiny parents. It's the same chance every time.

Yep and to add to that you only had increased chances if both or one parent(s) was shiny i think IN Gold Silver Crystal tho

Yes that was the case because the Shiny value was part of the IVs... now that has changed so you can't have great luck breeding with shinies anymore

actually

if both parents are shiny u have a 1 in 32 chance of the egg bein a siny.. if u have 1 shiny parent ur chances are 1 in 64//

thats the truth

Uhhhh... No. The chances are still 1/8192 of getting a shiny even with shiny parents. That would just undercut the value of shinies.

do the parents both have to be shiny?

It doesn't matter if they're shiny or not, there's a 1/8192 (Correct me if I'm wrong, my numbers can be weird some times. T.T) chance of getting a shiny out of the egg. The baby could have 4 generations of shinies and be bred from two shinies and the chances still remain the same.

Other say that level your pokemon to 100 and breed it. Then hatch the egg and the newly hatched pokemon will be shiny? Is this true?

Definitely not true. The chances of a shiny is always the same, regardless of levels.

Doesn't matter whether or not the parent/parents are shiny or not, you have the same chance as finding one in the wild or whatever. So don't breed a shiny and expect another one. If it was that easy than everyone would have shinies.

You still have the same odds of getting a shiny in an egg as capturing it in the wild. However in the Metal Generation you could of improved your odds if one of the Pokemon breading was shiny.

Yeah not true. If it where I'd up to my eyeballs in shiny Charmanders instead of just regular ones. Remy, the Charizard I use for breeding, is Lvl. 100, and we still haven't gotten any shinies yet! :(
