Egg Moves: What works, & what doesn't?

As I'm a Pokémon Breeder, I've been experimenting which egg moves work on the said Pokémon that I plan to breed. At times, the egg moves that a Pokémon possess can make or break their performance in the field, & thus, I'm planning on finding those moves that works as a vital piece in their move-set.

However, I've only got myself a few ideas, so, have any of you have any ideas as to which egg moves work & which of those don't on any Pokémon in particular?

I'm particularly looking for at least one egg move that I can include for Mienshao, Staraptor, & Musharna. However, any suggestions will be most welcome.

I'm confused, are you asking for help on egg moves or asking us to recommend pokemon with good egg builds?

Some cool stuff that I like for egg sets.

Try a Tyranitar with Dragon Dance and Outrage. It's hard to set up, but awesome when finished.
Or my personal favorite Recover and Mirror Coat Cradily.

Edit: Almost forgot, when looking for egg builds, Serebii.net is your friend.

I'm asking for ideas for Pokémon builds that include egg moves. Sorry for the confusion...

Oh. I misunderstood your PM then. If you need suggestions, you're better off asking in the BW Q&A thread or CBC's request a moveset thread or something. I'll leave this open though, for egg move discussion and such.

I like Dragon Dance + Drain Punch Scraggy/Scrafty. Scrafty has enough bulk to set up 1-2 Dragon Dances and heal off the damage it took setting up with Drain Punch, possibly scoring several Moxie boosts in 1 game.

Wow that's a pretty sneaky set up, but how does that work competitively? I'd be worried about being KO'ed before getting the chance to recover with Drain Punch. Does Scrafty play well with Defense?

Yes, Scrafty is awesome defensively. It has 115 base Defense and Special Defense, and only weak to Fighting and Flying.

Huh... Sounds interesting, I'm going to have to try playing with a Scrafty with that in mind.

Talk about thinking outside of the box, here. This concept of yours is really sound. However, it'll take quite a bit of research in order to yield one with these two moves.

Still, if a DD + Drain Punch Srafty lives up to this hype, then I'll absolutely accept this idea happily.

Edit: Turns out, that there isn't a way for me to breed a Scraggy that possesses both of those moves. Either that, or something's not adding up. Whatever, I'm not going to lose any sleep over this...

I think that the Dragon Dance + Drain Punch, Scrafty might be possible, but it might be a lot of work or it may not work at all due to having to awkwardly double cross breed Scrafty with two separate species. (Field and Dragon)
I'm down to try it though, so wish me luck. I'll post results if it works.

Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think it's possible to get both those moves on a Scrafty, as there are no Pokemon that you can breed with a female Scrafty that can know both Dragon Dance and Drain Punch, as that's what it would take. In fact, no Pokemon at all can know both Dragon Dance and Drain Punch at the same time.

Wanna hear something weirder than that?
I've been working on passing down Dragon Dance from a Haxorus and a Scrafty, and although their compatible in egg types, the move Dragon Dance refuses to pass down to the Scraggy. It's weird... I even deleted all possible passing moves that could be considered egg moves, and yet I just can't get the Dragon Dance. It's the weirdest thing...

Does anybody know why this is happening?

Also, I just thought of a better idea...
What if you get Drain Punch as Egg move and then use TM "Bulk Up"? I mean sure you don't get the speed boost which is much nicer, but you get the extra defense to help hold your ground and then take them down with a Drain Punch to recover the lost health, then get the continuous boosts from "Moxie". <-- I think this could effectively make Scrafty a Tank.

I'm pretty sure you can just teach these moves to a male Smeargle and pass it down that way.

Through Sketch, hmm? You're on to something here, as that's pretty much the only way that we'll be able to get this combination.

I'm just hoping that I'll be able to find one in a swarm, or in the DW...

I'm trying to get the Smeargle in my Heartgold over to my White version.
Then, if you want, I'll give you a Smeargle egg so you can do all kinds of Sketching. :D

Thanks anyway, but I'll find one myself; after all this time playing Pokémon games by my lonesome, I've turned into one of those self-sufficient trainers who will depend on no one else other then themselves to complete their Pokédex. I doubt that this trait will be dying anytime soon, even after coming to this place.
