Evening everyone. Tonight I'm going to level all my current Pokemon to level 50, but I already know that my Altaria, Sceptile, and Ninetales alone cannot defeat the Elite Four. I just need two Pokemon, since my last slot is reserved for my future Metagross.

So I am asking you guys - What other Pokemon should I consider to be on my team for Emerald?

I have already considered these Pokemon, but I'm not sure if they are good enough:
Walrein - With Surf, Ice, Rest, and Sleep Talk, can this thing be a beast?
Heracross - Loved this guy since his debut, but I already have a weakness to fire. Could I afford a second one?
Machamp - Another fighter, but is not weak to fire and with Cross Chop/Ice Punch this thing can put some pressure on the opponent.
Sharpedo - I do not know much about this Pokemon, so I need some opinions on this.
Donphan - STAB Earthquake will probably be good for the Elite Four, right?

    Opinions? and thanks in advance.

PS: I will cross out the Pokemon that people will say that won't be as good as the others.

For fighting the elite four, a fire weakness won't be a problem (the only pokemon with a fire move iirc is Drake's Salamence) so heracross would be very useful for sydney and glacia. You should take Walrein to brush Drake off, as all of his pokes get OHKO'd by a decent ice attack.

By the way, you didn't say whether this was R/S or E

This is going to be in Emerald. I'll edit my post. :)

    Sorry about that.

Consider a Swampert. Have a friend trade you a 'Kip.
If you can't, then stay the hell away from faillord. But you would have figured that out already.
I would go for a Manectric. He comes in handy against Glacia, especially since she has two Wallreins to take out your Sceptile.

Another suggestion? Er.. I can't think of any. If you like, you could get an Aggron, but EQ and Brick Break are common. So yeah. *Awaits shanecdavis' swift arrival*

I already gave him my suggestions in a different thread he created. No need to repeat myself.

Donphan's great, but practically useless for the champion(except Tentacruel). Sharpedo's great when it strikes first(Double-edge or Earthquake), but has horribly low defence. Walrein's great if it has thick fat, very good fortress. If you doubted your choice, then capture Rayquaza(a major STABer).

Any Pokemon at level 80—100, sweeps everything. Best to keep a few items handy though.

I'm surprised I'm the only person that raises one primary Pokemon for use in every battle, perhaps everyone has grown out of my tactic? I do wonder why, it's really so easy...

Emerald, it's hard to do the battle frontier with one main pokemon, but I see where you're coming from, anyway multiple varieties makes it more fun.

Uhh..your team looks good, no starter I see? Why no Swampert or something :)

    Umm...Sceptile?

    Anyway...
If you can go for a Torpedoing Sharpedo.

Does excactly what it says on the tin.

Sharpedo @ ...Wave insence?, Mystic Water? Sitrus berry.
(Sorry I'm lost without a life orb.....)
    Anyway!
    HASTY
If you can EV train it give it EV's in Atk or SPAtk And Speed.
    EQ!
    SURF/WATERFALL! <<Depends on EV's
    ICE BEAM!
    CRUNCH!

If this is not possible then...Either the Walrien or...hmmm your in emerald....

    Ah!
How about a Nice 'n' Speedy, KAMIKAZEE, Electrode?
    Electrode @Anything you feel works.
    HASTY
Again if you can EV give to Atk, SpAtk and Speed.
    ThunderBolt
    Thunder Wave
    Sub
    EXPLOSION

    Hope that helps a little.

O.o It's the Elite Four. You can either be lazy and train two Pokemon to level 100 and pwn them no matter what, or you can go:
A fighting type (Hariyama's a good choice), A dark or ghost type(Maybe Shuppet?) and a Dragon type (Salamence or Flygon) and maybe Electric type.
    Easy.
Fighting for Dark and Ice, Ghost/Dark for Ghost, Dragon for Dragon and Electric if you need it. Train less Pokemon, so you don't need to waste as much time training. If you're lazy, just train the Pokemon you beat the other half of the game with till they're in their mid 50's or early 60's.
