3rd Gen Emerald Happiness...I think

I just got to the point to teach my Pokémon Dive in RSE. So i caught a Tentacool to teach it to, along, later on, with Waterfall. And thought, ill give him Surf aswell. So i removed Surf from my other HM slaves (Zigzagoon on Ruby, Lotad on both Sapphire and Emerald). R and S worked fine, but my Lotad 'Doesnt want to forget that move'.

Is it to do with happiness? Its been in my team a long time, but fainted and poisoned alot, due to being in Double battles and catching wild Pokés. If it is to do with happiness, will putting it in my PC for a while work, then when its happiness is reset to '0', then retry?

    Hope you understand that.

are trying to delete the "move" by The Move Deleter in Lilycove? because if you are then I have no clue, why is not working, because far I know that He will delete any move no matter how happy your pokemon, If not then that might be why it wont let you delete the move.

    Not related in any way...
    Go to the Move Deleter...

~Kitsune is absolutely right. It's a weird little thing that occurs in the game where after you teach the HMs to your Pokemon, one must always have it at all times regardless...

Well I am at the Move Deleter yeah, im not stupid enough to try to overwrite a HM with another move. der.

Anyway, I did try to remove Surf from Lotad BEFORE i taught Tentacool it, so ill go back in a minute, and remove it again. Hopefully itll work, but it sounds a really dumb rule...

You gotta go to the move deleter. You can't just delete HM's right away. in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald the move deleter is in lilycove city...

Yes, I DO know that. You can only remove HM via the Move Deleter. But what I asked was why wouldnt it let me remove Surf from my Lotad FROM THE MOVE DELETER. But it doesnt matter now. I taught my Tentacool Surf, and now Lotad has forgotten Surf. Thanks anyway.

So it wasnt specifically programmed in? A glitch ey? I know its not MEGA bad, but you know, poorly played by Nintendo. Anyway, yeah, its all sorted now. Cheers.

I seem to recall that it was purposely programmed in... but meh, it doesn't really matter too much.

(Easy way to check would be with D/P to see if it was done on purpose).

on DP it lets you get rid of the move even if another pokemon doesnt know it so maybe it was a programming fault or maybe not...

    Well, just to confuse matters, when i went back on, I taught Tentacool Surf, so now i had in my squad;

    Blaziken
    Wingull (Fly)
    Lotad (Surf, Flash)
    Zigzagoon (Cut, Rock Smash)
    Slakoth (Strength)
    Tentacool (Surf, Dive)

So, i removed Surf from Lotad, and it worked. But then I tried to remove Flash from it, and it also worked? I dont have ANY other Pokémon who know Flash. Its all confusing to me, but it doesnt really matter, i suppose. Its all sorted now.

is it an origional game or is it hacked?

i think this problem only occurs with Hm surf, and no other in RSE. i dont know why it happens, maybe its a glitch, or maybe not, seeing as how you need surf to get to certain areas of the game. who knows.

Definitely a legit game. I have them all on GBA carts, in the correct colours and I bought them from Game or a similar game shop pretty much as soon as they came out basically. And as LL says below, it looks asif its just with Surf. Not too much of a problem, cuz i might use Surf to teach to some Pokémon, its a reuseable, decent move. Good job it doesnt glitch with Flash or Cut, thatd be annoyin...
