6th Gen Emma & Looker's Tale

There's actually a pretty interesting post-story after you've beaten Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. After you have cleared the game, when you walk into Lumiose City, you will get an ominous call on your Holo Caster to meet in Rouge Plaza. When you go there, you will meet Looker who has set up a detective agency in Lumiose and wishes for you to assist. Eventually you'll meet a girl named Emma, who stays with Detective Looker and look for Part-time work in the city. Eventually, you start to hear talk of someone going around stealing people's PokéBalls named Essentia, straight out of their hands. Looker tasks you with investigating, and from there, the tale intensifies.

Simply put, it's some of the best writing in the series overall... it's just a shame it comes too late to remedy the poorly-executed ideas of the main segment of the game. It's also a bit cryptic to activate, and as such most people I've seen don't even know it exists. Still, Emma, Looker, and Xerosic are among the best characters in the series thanks to these little episodes. They're not perfect, but considering how miniaturized they are in comparison to the main story, it's a fantastic example of getting more out of less.

Perhaps if they had found a way to intertwine some elements of this side-story into the main story, such as the examples of Lumiose's dirty underbelly and Emma being homeless, it could have strengthened Lysandre's otherwise questionable motives?
