I once came up with a Tazmanian Tiger based fakemon, would be cool to see something like that in the game.
I don't think they intentionally draw on endangered animals for designing Pokémon, instead they're just using the weird and wonderful designs they can find in nature and that tends to lead to animals that are rare. In Sun/Moon's case this means mostly Hawaiian species as well which further limits their options, that and it seems a lot of endemic wildlife there is under threat.
I would like an evolution line for a parrot and an actual parrot not Chatot.
I so that is what that name is based on.
Because of this supposed trend, I'd like to see a Pokémon based on a Hawaiian crow, especially in its flavor.
What's not colorful about Chatot?

Their names aren't derived from any species AT ALL, but that doesn't simply mean they're not based off the axolotl.
A few more notes: Drowzee is based off a tapir, and saying you want a Pokémon based off a parrot and another based off a macaw is redundant, as macaws are parrots.
As for chatot, it has black in it which is one reason i do not like it.

Exactly! It's like saying that Emboar and Delphox aren't pig and fox because they stand on their hind legs.I'm totally cool with us having more than one parrot pokemon or more than one Mammoth pokemon, but you can't deny the fact that we do in fact have pokemon based on these animals already, if you don't like them that's fine, but your opinion doesn't change the fact that these pokemon are inspired by these animals in one way or another.
Pokemon are fantasy creatures that for the most part resemble real life creatures, they're not exact copies of those creatures. So the fact that Chatot shares similarities with multiple parrots/birds doesn't mean it's not a parrot pokemon, The Swinub family is based on a family of pigs as well as it shares similarities with a mammoth, just because it's based on both pigs and a mammoth doesn't mean it is not based on a mammoth. Drowzee has similarities and is based on a Tapir, but because it stands on two legs that means it's not based on that animal?
So based on this reasoning I could say any pokemon is not truly based on what animal it's supposed to be based on because of any one fantastic feature that makes it unrealistic.
Pokemon are not supposed to be exact copies of anything in real life. I'm not playing pokemon games to simulate the capture of real life animals, Pokemon are fantasy based monsters that have inspiration drawn from things that we are realistically familiar with, but non a re exact copies, and if they were this game would probably be a lot more boring.
I said TO ME! That does not mean you have to agree with me in any way. It is my opinion. What I think is what I think and that is what I am TRYING to explain.
Mamoswine does not look like a mammoth that I know. It looks more like a giant pig.
Drowzee is based off on an evil spirits that transforms into the type of animal in question. Not the animal 100%. And TO ME it does not look like one.
There are hundreds of different parrots. A masked love bird may be a parrot BUT it is still vastly different from the ones I would love to see.
Delphox and Emboar are obviously what they are based on because there are obvious features to indicate so.
I understand what some of you are saying even though some are being a little being a little bit rude. But my opinion is mine. And mine alone. If you don't like it then don't jump down my throat because you don't agree with what I say. I am trying to stay calm, but some seem to want to push the issue.
Now let us just drop it and please get back on subject.
