Say you have attached three enegrycards to a basic Pokemon, and you make an attack that cost two energycards. Do you discrad two of the attached cars, which leave you with only one card left for next turn?

Unless an attack tells you to discard energy cards, you do not discard the cost of the attack when using it.

For example, say a Pokémon has these two attacks:

    (Fire) Ember 10

    (Fire) (Fire) (Fire) Flamethrower 40
Discard a (Fire) energy card attacked to Charmandeleonizard.

You have Four fire energy attacked to him. If you use Ember, he keeps all four energy when using the attack. If he uses Flamethrower, he discards one energy to go down to three attached to him.

    Ok, thnks for the answer.

By the way is it the same with retreats? If you retrat you don't discard energycrads unless the pokemoncard tells you to do so?

Uh, no. In order to retreat you have to discard a number of energy equal to the cost.
