This game is for the first major trophy of the season between Aston Villa and Manchester United, played at Wembley.
    The Aston Villa team is:
    -----------------------Brad Freidal---------------------------
    Cueller--------Collins--------Dunne--------Warnock
    Young---------Milner--------Petrov(C)--------Downing
    ---------------Heskey--------Agbonlahor--------
Subs: Guzan(GK), Luke Young, Sidwell, Carew, Delfouneso, Delph, Beye.

    The Manchester United team was:
    ----------------------Kuszczak----------------
    Rafael-------Vidic--------Evans--------Evra(C)
    Valencia-----Fletcher----Carrick------Ji-Sung Park
    ---------------Owen------Berbatov
Subs:Foster(GK), Neville, Brown, Rooney, Scholes, Gibson, Diouf.

Aston Villa started the game the stronger of the two teams, winning a penalty in the third minute, from a defensive howler from Vidic, when he fouled Agbonlahor. The Penalty was converted by Milner to give Villa a one goal lead. United went straight on the attack from the kick off and were rewarded with a goal in the 13th minute. The goal came from another defensive mistake, this time from a Villa player, Dunne. Berbatov stole the ball from Dunne after poor control, ran into the area where he was tackled and the ball rolled to Owen who slots the ball beyond Freidal. Owen then went off injured to be replaced by Wayne Rooney, Uniteds most prolific goalscorer this season.

Both teams attacked for the rest of the half, with Park hitting the post right on half time.

In the second half both teams looking for the winner, when Rooney popped up and scored a header from a Valencia cross, his 28th goal of the season, to make it Waynes World again. Making the score 2-1 which was enough to give United the win and retain the trophy, Which they held from the season before.

I'm a die hard Liverpool fan, but I will admit that Rooney is a straight up beast.

The game was good; I watched it from start to finish. In my opinion Aston Villa put up a fight worthy of winning the competition. In the end it came down to one man who could win the game, of course this was Rooney. But that's what world class players do. They take the game by the scruff of the neck and they win it for their team. Aston Villa lacked a player of Rooney's calibre, and ultimately that's what won the game for United.

Hopefully, now United will step up a gear and start performing and go on to win their fourth consecutive title and win the Champions League after losing to Barcelona last season
