Epic Fails You've Made In A Game?

Ok I had bought Pokemon Gold and Ran into 2 shiny spinaraks IN A ROW!! killed one caught the other.I saved my game turned it back on then realize after 4 saves and starting the gamew over the game didnt save AT ALL.
I WAS SO MAD I went up and traded it in for crystal.:)
 
I've done silly mistakes like using the wrong move several times actually but I can't really think of any EPIC fails that I've came across, maybe running into a Shiny Spearow on an Emulator which disables me from trading it to the handhelds but other than that nothing really.
