6th Gen European release question

Hey, I'm from Ireland and as you may or may not know, AS and OR dont come out till the 28th in Europe despite an otherwise universal release date of 21st. Obviously for me, and alot of other Pokemon fans, a week is a long enough time to wait knowing the game is out elsewhere and would be playable on our systems. So I'm wondering would there be any way to like preorder the game on an american website and get it sent to me or is there another way of getting the american version of the game early?

To play the american version you need to have an american 3ds. There are many sites were you could order from america, but the shipping would most likely take longer than a week. So all in all just wait a week.

I'm afraid not. Ordering ORAS from North America requires you to have a North Americam 3DS system. And even if you do order, shipping the game takes more time then the waiting of 7 days. So you're better off waiting an extra 7 days and bite through it than get complicated.

I'm European too and I too have to swallow the bitter pill. It is just how it is and we can't do anything about it. I'm still wondering why Europe has to wait a week.

Thanks, I though shipping might be an issue, but when i went to america with my dsi a while back i got 2 ds games that worked perfectly fine, has this changed for the 3ds?

DS is not region locked compared to 3DS.

back in the days before the 3DS, only certain DSi-Enhanced games where region locked... with the 3DS, everything is region locked... which apparently has to do with international laws or something. yeah, sucks, I know. =/

As the others said, the 3DS is region-locked meaning you can't just import any games willy-nilly, it has to be from the same region as the 3DS itself.

Given what BakingBluePotatoe said about shipping, it can be just as frustrating to wait for that rather than the game release. I'm from a region where the games get released on the 21st so I can feel the pain the Europeans will be going through in terms of attempting to avoid spoilers.

I think you should just stick with waiting for the 28th when the games finally come out in Europe. If you still want a blind playthrough just avoid the internet for a while because I know how many leaks will be popping up come the 21st.

I heard about it on Reddit, but there's not been much revealed other than the Pokemon Center interior and the fact the Mega Stone for Latias/Latios is obtained after the 5th Gym. But I know that lots of people will be posting game footage when the games are released and that could serve as heavy spoilers towards Europeans who wanted to go into the games blind.

It seems like all questions have been answered. In the future, please don't post threads only for the purpose of asking a question that can easily be searched on Google. This forum isn't for asking questions, it's about speculation and discussion of the games. Therefore, I'm going to have to lock this up!
