So we won't have so many nasty-looking locked topics in Webbies, here are some guidelines to think about when making a new topic.

    Is my "site" a forum?
If it is, don't even bother posting it. Forum links are not allowed, period. And if your site has basically no content and just a forum link, don't bother posting your site either, until you get some content.

Penalty: Locked thread and removal of link and/or formal warning.

    What about a chatroom?
    Nope.

    Penalty: Same as above.

Did I recently make a topic?
If you recently made a topic about your site, go and check to make sure it's dead. Only make a new thread if the last post in the thread was over 1 week ago and the thread is not on the first page.

Penalty: Locking of the new thread.

Am I asking for hosting/offering it?
We have a sticky for asking for someone to host you here. Please do not make a new topic or ask for hosting elsewhere.

Penalty: Merging of the request into the proper thread and/or deletion of the request.

As for offering hosting: If you would like your hosting to be added to the list of hosts in the Resources/References thread, or if you have anything to add to that thread in general, please PM me with the info and I'll add it.
If you can fulfill someone's hosting request, please PM them instead of responding to their request in the topic.

Does my thread have a purpose?
If not, then duh- we're gonna close it. And please don't make "official" threads either, like the "Official Staff Request Thread" or the "Official How to Make a Website Thread" or the "Official PC Website Contest". That's for the section mods and the upper staff to do.
However, such things as, for example, the "Official (Your Site Here) Layout Contest" may be posted.

If everyone reads and follows these guidelines before they start posting in Webbies, we can cut down on the number of ugly locked topics we have around here. And happy posting!

Props to Greg (JKaizer) for making the majority of this FAQ.

I might suggest that to explain in more detail the forum portal rule. =)

Robo, your Forum part is still too confusing and vague.

Not to mention the fact you can't lock their thread just because they have like NO content XD. We all know half the n00b sites have either none or content from like SIVPH, PPN, or Serebii.
