I have created two new stones from a fire red rom by overwriting previous items. However, when i use the stones on the pokemon, it says "it won't have any effect." Can any one teach me how to fix this? I used GEn 3 tools and gen 3 suite. Thanks!

You need to assign scripts to them that call assembly routines that do what you want them to do. TT&R should have you covered on where to find these things, or at least R&D.

You're going to need to do some reading to learn how to implement these things. So prepare to sit down :b

Use the above thread to add new stones. If you just changed existing stones, you have to check what Pokémons are allowed to evolve by those "new" stones.
You can either use YAPE or G3HS.
